Silas is a monkey character in Bloons TD 6. He is an "Ice Shaper" who has been described as an Ice Monkey capable of using magic.

Gameplay

Silas is a Hero in Bloons TD 6 introduced in version 50.0. He excels at handling large groups of Bloons and features great synergy with Ice Monkeys. He is capable of freezing water around him and reducing the speed of Bloons in his radius like an Arctic Wind; his main attack consists of launching magical spheres of ice at Bloons, which slow and freeze them, creating additional explosions if the target is already frozen. As he levels up, he provides buffs to Ice Monkeys, increases his own XP gain by being near them, creates Ice Walls that freeze nearby Bloons, and reduces the immunity of White Bloons to ice attacks.

In the Chinese version, Silas has an exclusive Hero Skin named Mǎnián Silas. It has the same Rogue Legends and Frontier Legends stats as regular Silas.

General information

Appearance

Silas has dark periwinkle skin, blue eyes, purple horns, and lavender-tinted white fur with long hair in a bang covering his right eye. He wears a purple hood and a purple scarf with what appears to be a glowing sky blue emblem floating on his back. In Bloons TD 6, his appearance changes as he levels up:

• At level 3, the emblem on his back gains an icy rim, his horns grow somewhat sharper, and his hood and scarf gain a blue hem.
• At level 7, the emblem expands, his hood and scarf gain new blue patterns, and his horns gain frozen tips.
• At level 10, the emblem expands yet further, he gains even more complex patterns on his clothes, his horns completely freeze over, his hair grows slightly longer, and his bangs start to reflect a mysterious blue light.
• At level 20, his clothes turn into a lighter shade of blue, his frozen horns expand, his hair grows visibly longer, his eyes turn a shade of cyan, and his emblem now resembles an icy blue snowflake.

Personality and traits

True to his nature, Silas can be described as rather cold, a behavior that Bloons TD 6 states was developed from his extensive time alone in the bitter cold of his usual icy environments. He maintains a serious, focused demeanor at all times, rarely ever emoting or raising his voice. His voice has a very subtle enunciation similar to a British accent.

Lore

• Despite their differing elemental preferences, Silas and Gwendolin don't share a rivalry that goes beyond competing for who can pop more Bloons. He gets along with other fire-based monkeys similarly, provided they respect his space.
• He knows how to make a grilled cheese — he has to, since it's mandatory to complete the Hero Trials.
• At heart, he is a wanderer, having previously crossed paths with Popseidon.
• He dodged Ninja Kiwi's interview questions "for the vine."
• Currently, his origins are unknown.
• His favorite ice cream flavor is plain vanilla.
• While more of an outdoors monkey, he has played fire-based characters in video games.
• Ninja Kiwi theorize that his ability to allow extra tier 5 Ice Monkeys stems from his conjuring "an almighty snowstorm so thick that the Bloons don't notice" the extra towers.
• He likes to stay up late reading with Corvus.
• He is okay with ice-related puns.
• In the shower, he sings Frozen songs and "Ice Ice Baby".
• His favorite superhero is, naturally, Emma Frost. He would also appreciate Captain Cold if he were a hero.
• He likes frozen snap peas. He also enjoys a spicy ramen from time to time, reasoning that "you cannot understand the cold without knowing the heat".
• He enjoys making beautiful and technical ice sculptures.
• He played a role in the creation and "final touches" of the Herald of Everfrost, whom he thinks is great.
• He "absolutely likes" ferrets and stoats.
• Despite his chilly presence, he is warm-blooded like all the other monkeys.
