Legends are a series of planned expansion updates for Bloons TD 6 introduced in version 47.0. Legends expansions will focus on adding additional game modes and content using the BTD6 engine. Expansions are self-contained and will not have an impact on the base game other than cosmetic items, statistics tracking, or achievement tracking, while regular updates for game balance or new content (such as new maps or Hero skins) will also be reflected in Legends[1]. As of version 49.0, only one Legends expansion has been released in the form of a paid DLC: Rogue Legends.
Purchasing an expansion on one platform will also unlock the DLC on other devices linked to the same account. At launch, expansions are only available on iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS (and can be delayed a few days depending on the storefront), with the Netflix and Arcade versions following some weeks after. There are plans to eventually launch them on the console version when it catches up with the updates.[1]
List of Legends
Rogue Legends

Rogue Legends, introduced in version 47.0, features a rogue-lite gameplay style using BTD6 mechanics. In this game mode, players will start a campaign by selecting a starting party composed of a Hero, a couple of Insta Monkeys and power-ups known as Artifacts, which work similarly to Relic Knowledge in the base game but with a greater variety of effects.
A campaign is divided into four stages, and each of them is played in a generated map composed of hexagonal tiles. As the player progresses, they can find tiles with Bloons that start a short BTD6 game with a custom set of rounds, which escalate in difficulty much faster. They can also encounter tiles with Loot Chests, Merchants that exchange Artifacts for other Artifacts or in-game currency, or Mini-game tiles (featuring modes like Races, Least Cash, and Boss Rush) that will reward players with Artifacts if they can reach certain scores. At the end of the map, Players will face the Final Boss; upon defeating it, they will receive a powerful Artifact or Insta Monkey and move to the next stage.

Frontier Legends is an upcoming Legend planned for release in the upcoming version 52.0. This DLC was originally called Desperado Legends[2] but got reworked due changes with Ninja Kiwi's development pipeline, resulting in the release of the Desperado tower in version 49.0 and the delay of this Legend towards the end of 2025.

Version 47.0
The update preview for version 47.0 revealed more information about Rogue Legends and answered questions from the community about Legends in general.
Legends heralds a new way of looking at designing and building updates for BTD6. The team has so many exciting ideas, many of which could be full standalone games, and Legends gives us a way to push forward with groundbreaking ideas while maintaining the continuity of BTD6 and its awesome community.
These DLC should be separate and unique enough not to feel required but to offer a very alternate way of playing. We will continue to focus on a huge variety of content that players get at no additional cost to the base game, but as these features get bigger and bigger, the team does need to keep new IAPs and DLCs coming into the game to support future development.— Update preview for version 47.0[1]
Version 48.0
In the update preview and the update notes of version 48.0, alongside an update to Rogue Legends, Ninja Kiwi decided to scale down on the frequency of Legends DLC in favor of providing more content in a single one; additionally, they announced the rework of Desperado Legends into Frontier Legends.

The team absolutely loved being able to put together more content for Rogue Legends, so allowing time to have that interaction across one or more updates after a Legends drop is something we’re now planning
That ability to expand scope in updates also requires highly flexible pipelines and frameworks as well as months of interaction on those systems
The team did not want to have timeframe be the main driver of scope for future Legends drops, and while we had all agreed at the end of 2024 that we would try a one-small/one-large approach to 2025, we didn’t hold onto that for long after Rogue Legends released
We are now moving forward with only one large Legends drop this year - Frontier Legends, which we’re planning to release in early December 2025
Rogue Legends will likely have minor additions and balance changes until then, but most of our Legends work is now on Frontier— Update notes for version 48.0[3]
