A similar card to Quincy's Stunning Shot, it trades 1 charge for the ability to summon a Yellow Bloon for free when out of Gold.
You can use the Yellow Bloon to put on pressure while simultaneously stunning an enemy Bloon to relieve a bit of pressure on yourself, making Push The Initiative a decent choice for Tempo or Aggro decks.
Striker Jones is ill suited for Aggro and the Yellow generally isn’t very threatening, making this card not very strong in most decks. The Zero Gold condition also harms its use since it has a more specific activation than other cards.
During the Version 5.2 playtest, Ninja Kiwi proposed a buff to Push the Initiative by decreasing its Gold cost from 3 to 2, which was left unchanged for the update.
