In Our Darkest Hour... is an Exotic Power card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 2.0. It draws a random Ultra Rare rarity Monkey card from the player's deck. If no Ultra Rare Monkey cards remain in the deck, the card is consumed without triggering the effect.
The card artwork depicts a Sun Temple triggering intense beams of light and a dark storm of clouds. Several monkeys are watching it.
- At the cost of 3 Gold, In Our Darkest Hour guarantees any Ultra Rare Monkey, as opposed to the ULTRA Rare Power which draws any Ultra Rare. It is best equipped if the deck's win condition is a specific Ultra Rare Monkey. Multiple of this card is redundant unless involving multiple Ultra Rare Monkeys in a control deck.
- With a cheap Monkey setup, Total Transformation Monkey can be played in this optimal position, creating all four Transformed Monkeys, and together deal immense damage for the mid-to-late game.
- Prince Of Darkness can be drawn to support a push with high health Bloons, allowing for large pushes to be continually healed.
- Marketplace can be drawn to start up large amounts of moneymaking, allowing for earlier rushes and better defenses.
- Sun Temple is expensive, risky, and poor to draw, as its large cost makes it difficult to get out of your hand. The 3 Gold cost of the In Our Darkest Hour prevents the Sun Temple from being bought on the same turn without another source of Gold, further adding to the toughness of getting it out of your hand.
- If exactly one Ultra Rare Monkey is left in your remaining cards, playing In Our Darkest Hour guarantees that card.
- Most Ultra Rare Monkeys are quite expensive, so it is often worth mulliganning this card in the starting hand.
- Most players don't rely on specific Ultra Rare Monkeys as a wincon, and having the In Our Darkest Hour may waste space for more important control cards like board clears and monkey removals.
- For the same Gold cost and Uncommon rarity, In Our Darkest Hour is more precise at tutoring than ULTRA Rare Power. Use cases for picking either card depends if the deck's wincon depends on Ultra Rare Monkeys or not.
