Depleted Bloontonium (Depleted Bloontonium Darts in the Flash version) is the Dartling Gun's path 2 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It allows the Dartling Gun to pop Lead Bloons and frozen Bloons. Since Laser Cannon can already pop frozen, this upgrade only grants it the ability to pop Lead, and since Ray Of Doom can already pop both Lead and frozen, this upgrade has no effect on it.

Strategy

An expensive source of lead-popping, but may be necessary for Monkey Teams involving Dartling to avoid dependence on Exploding Pineapples. Only purchase on a single dartling when spamming them, as the DPS lost from a few darts hitting Lead Bloons does not outweigh the expensive cost of upgrading them all to Depleted Bloontonium. On the Flash version, players should have enough money to upgrade all their Dartlings to it to defend against DDTs once they come.

Depleted Bloontonium is not as cost-efficient for unshielded Dreadbloon defense compared to other options, but can be done very early into a city's life, only requiring research of a tier 2 upgrade instead of most options requiring a tier 3 to be effective.

Damaging Frozen isn't as impactful and is also done with Laser Cannon, so buying it solely for frozen popping is a waste of money.
