The card artwork depicts a Tack Sprayer shooting tacks on a beachside, surrounded by Red Bloons. Multiple tacks have landed on a palm tree, a barrel, a crate, in the water, onto sand, and on a seashell.
Compared to the Tack Shooter, the Tack Sprayer costs twice as much, has 1 more ammo, and deals more damage (30, total of 50 when defending). Therefore, it synergizes better with ATK buffs, such as Gwendolin's Heat It Up, Zee Jay's Rad Enhancements, and nearby Monkey Villages. However, it has 3 reload instead of 2.
Tack Sprayer is significantly cheaper than Elite Defender and has the same ATK when defending, but has 1 less ammo and thus benefits less from ATK buffs. Like Elite Defender, Tack Sprayer can two-shot Pinks, minus Health modifiers such as Dark Castle or an enemy Ezili.
Zee Jay aggro may use Tack Sprayer as anti-aggro, particularly against Blooming Bloon and Precursor Bloon. Compared to Robo Monkey, Sprayer can spread its damage among more Bloons, and it can reload, but it does less damage to a single target.
The community playtesters for Version 5.2 proposed a rework to both Tack Sprayer and Elite Defender in an effort to limit Tack Sprayer's Zee Jay synergy but improve overall Defender bonuses of both Monkeys. Tack Sprayer had its ammo reduced (4 → 3) but ATK increased (25 → 30) along with increased Defender bonus (+15 → +20). Elite Defender's ammo was increased (3 → 4) but ATK decreased (50 → 35). After these reworks, both Monkeys have the same Defender damage.
