Bomb Shooters (previously known as Cannons or Bomb Towers) are monkey-operated cannons that use bombs, missiles and other explosives to pop Bloons. They were introduced in the original Bloons Tower Defense, appearing in almost every Bloons game since.
Gameplay
[edit | edit source]The Bomb Shooter fires bombs that can pop groups of Bloons at a time, with the usual exception of Black Bloons that resist explosives.
Representing the Bomb Bloon from the original Bloons, in Bloons Tower Defense Bomb Towers are the only towers that can pop frozen Bloons. This ability would expand to the newly-introduced Lead Bloons in its sequel. In Bloons TD 4, its ultimate upgrade is the MOAB Mauler, dealing vastly increased damage to MOAB-Class Bloons.
In the Bloons TD 5 generation of games, its bottom path retains the MOAB-Class damage specialty, while the top path focuses on increasing the amount of Bloons it can pop. Its Specialty Building in BTD5 is the Bombing Range, while its main buildings in Bloons Monkey City are the Bomb Range and the Ordnance and Munitions Support (in the Flash version) or the Cannon Support (in the mobile version).
In Bloons TD 6 and Battles 2, the Bomb Shooter is a Primary tower. It keeps the MOAB-Class damage path, while the stunning and cluster bomb aspects of BTD5's top path would be split into their own paths. The top path primarily becomes the damage path with added support via stuns and pushback (BTD6 only). In BTD6, it has a Paragon called the Ballistic Obliteration Missile Bunker.

The Bomb Shooter itself is absent from the Bloons Supermonkey series, though its projectiles are represented in the games – the missiles and MOAB Maulers appear as part of the Boomerang upgrade path in the original Bloons Super Monkey and Bomb weapons are their own path in Bloons Supermonkey 2.
The Bomb Shooter is a Monkey that is unlocked at level 1, as part of the tutorial after unlocking Dart Monkey. Its bombs explode Bloons on each bounce. Its Mega Monkey variant, Mega Bomb Shooter, has its higher-damage bombs split into cluster bombs that also pop Bloons with each bounce.
"Bomb Shooter" is a Monkey card type shared by six cards, including the basic Bomb Shooter. All of them are Primary-class damage dealers, and most have Armor Piercing.
Bomb Shooter deals damage and pierces Armor.
Frag Bomb Shooter deals splash damage to Bloons adjacent to the target.
Missile Launcher attacks targets twice per ammo and pierces Armor.
MOAB Mauler deals more damage if the target is a Large Bloon, and it pierces Armor.
Bloon Impact is temporary and increases the delay of Bloons it attacks, in addition to piercing Armor.
MOAB Eliminator deals damage and instantly destroys any Large Bloon it attacks, even if it has Armor or a Shield.
Other appearances
[edit | edit source]While the Bomb Shooter does not appear in Bloons Adventure Time TD, the character C4 Charlie functions very similarly, including access to the MOAB Mauler upgrade.
General information
[edit | edit source]Appearance
[edit | edit source]The Bomb Shooter in its base form is usually depicted as a simple black cannon with brown wooden wheels and a fuse in the back.
Despite the monkey operating the cannon never properly appearing, the cannon has been shown to talk in Bloons Pop!, suggesting some sort of speaker system or that the cannon itself is somehow sentient.
