Gwendolin (or Gwen) is a monkey character that debuted in Bloons TD 6. She is a pyromaniac who attacks Bloons with her flamethrower and other pyrotechnics.

Gameplay

Bloons TD series

Gwendolin is a Hero who uses fire to pop Bloons. She shoots flames at Bloons, can detonate weaponry such as her "Cocktail of Fire" to further incinerate them, and provides buffs to other Monkeys. Relative to other Heroes, she costs less and levels up quickly.

Gwen's Flamethrower appears as a Super Rare gun weapon in Bloons Adventure Time TD.

General information

Appearance

Gwendolin has brown fur, tan skin, and brown eyes, with spiky red and yellow hair resembling a flame (which may be dyed) held up with a red headband. She wears a pink short-sleeve shirt, blue overalls, red wristbands, and purple sneakers, in addition to a black belt carrying two nondescript yellow bottles. She has a set of two bandages on her right cheek (both cheeks in Bloons Card Storm), which is seemingly attached to part of her right eye in her Bloons TD 6 and Battles 2 portraits. In Bloons TD 6 and Battles 2, her appearance changes as she levels up:

• At level 3, she gains a red backpack and starts holding one of her Molotov Cocktails in her right hand.
• At level 10, her flamethrower gets adorned with a yellow-orange flame pattern on its muzzle.
• At level 20, she gains a protective visor (also adorned with a yellow-orange flame pattern) which obscures her face, with her hair being styled in a ponytail.

Personality and traits

On the battlefield, Gwendolin is feisty, being described by Ninja Kiwi as a tomboy. She is passionate about fire, often to the point of mildly concerning obsession. She is also seemingly passionate about sports, with some of her Battles 2 cosmetics depicting her as dabbling in boxing, biking, basketball, and both American and association football (a.k.a. soccer), among others. She does not take losing well at all, throwing tantrums whenever she loses in Battles 2 and Card Storm.

Scientist Gwendolin

Scientist Gwendolin is a mad scientist version of Gwendolin. She has blue hair and wears glasses (spiral goggles at levels 10 and higher), scrubs, and a white lab coat. Around her waist, she also carries flasks containing a purple substance.

Scientist Gwendolin is eccentric and concentrated on her experiments, becoming visibly agitated when the player bothers her. Compared to her original version, her voice is peppier.

Harlegwen

Harlegwen (Harlequin Gwen in Bloons Pop!) is a jester version of Gwendolin. In BTD6, she wears a pink-and-cream checkered fool's cap with bells, and her flamethrower resembles a circus cannon. Her personality is reckless yet cheerful.

Punk Rocker Gwendolin

Punk Rocker Gwendolin is a version of Gwendolin that debuted in Bloons Pop!. The skin draws influence from punk subculture and gives her a new hairstyle, sunglasses, and attire such as spiked boots.

• Her favorite savoury and sweet pie flavors are jalapeño steak and chilli lime, respectively.
• The other monkeys hide sugary drinks from Gwendolin for fear of her getting too energetic, though she voluntarily stays away from energy drinks specifically because of the extra sugar.
• She almost always cooks food with her flamethrower, though she doesn't cook very often.
• She loves cooking chili, "the hotter the better", and has won multiple chili-cooking competitions. However, she once came in second place in one, only losing because she had used up all of her secret sauce during a Bloon raid just before the competition began. She lost to renowned restaurateur Monke Fieri but was surprisingly honorable in regards to her defeat, though she now carries an extra bottle of sauce everywhere.
• She also loves crème brûlée.
• Her love of setting things on fire has been implied to have caused some legal trouble. Despite this, she usually waits for approval from the fire marshal monkey before burning down buildings.
• She styles her hair with special fireproof hair care products provided by Geraldo, the testing of which being the origin for her bandages.
• While Gwendolin and Ezili acknowledge they don't have many overlapping hobbies, they both enjoy horror movies and they get together to carve pumpkins every Halloween.
• She is the most likely monkey to jaywalk.
• Despite her love of sports, she has not played hockey.
• Her eagerness to pop Bloons with firecrackers led to a ban on doing so after an implied incident.
• Her favorite class in Team Fortress 2 is the Pyro, whom she admires.
• She tends to understate how large the fires she starts are, especially when she starts them when no one is looking.
• She plays games on an Amazon Fire tablet.
• Her favorite map is Infernal.
• She used to work with Dr. Monkey in his lab, but as her experiments got more explosive he made her get her own lab.
• She likes listening to Johnny Cash.
• She might have been ordered to see a therapist once.
• She does not like swimming.
• If Gwendolin were a standard tower, she would be Magic-class. This was stated before the Heroic Specialty Artifact categorized her as Primary.
• She once borrowed Quincy's bow to try out fire arrows, which did not go well.
• She tried teaching the Wizard Lord how to make a Molotov cocktail, which also didn't go well.
• When not setting things on fire and/or cooking, she enjoys planning on how to set more things on fire and reading.
• She thinks 'Gerry's Fire' Hot Sauce isn't hot enough for her liking.
• She studied pyrotechnics in college.
• Despite their differing elemental preferences, Gwendolin and Silas don't share a rivalry that goes beyond competing for who can pop more Bloons.
• The hottest food she's ever eaten is a Pepper X (a pepper bred specifically to be the hottest pepper of all time) slathered in a combination of Carolina Reaper sauce and her own hot sauce. Her reaction to the meal has not been disclosed.
• Sometimes, she, Rosalia and Etienne perform "remote-controlled combustion-related experiments".
• Completely coincidentally to her superfluous bandages, Gwendolin is sponsored by Peel-Aid bandages.
• She owns at least four flamethrowers, with her having additional flamethrowers being a "very likely" possibility.
