Glue Gunners (Acid Gunners in Bloons Pop!) are monkeys that use Monkey Glue to slow Bloons. They were introduced in Bloons TD 4, mostly only appearing in mainline Bloons TD games.

Gameplay

The Glue Gunner is a tower that shoots glue at one Bloon at a time, which slows them for a decent duration.

In Bloons TD 4, it cannot slow Ceramic Bloons (though the glue effect is still applied). It includes upgrades that slow Bloons for longer, soak all layers, and slowly damage Bloons. Its ultimate upgrade, Glue Splatter, allows it to glue up to 20 Bloons per shot.

In Bloons TD 5, its two paths focus on damage over time and frequent application of longer-lasting glue with more pierce. Its Specialty Building in BTD5 is the Glue Supply Depot, while its main buildings in Bloons Monkey City are the Glue Gun Range and Glue Factory.

In Bloons TD 6, it gains a third path that focuses on slowing MOAB-Class Bloons and stunning regular Bloons. This path also includes upgrades that increase effectiveness of the glue, while the middle path focuses on pierce and attack speed plus additional support.

For more gameplay information on this subject:

In Bloons Pop!, the Acid Gunner uses acid that slows advancing Bloons while damaging them for two rounds, dropping acid whenever the monkey lands on Bloons. It is unlocked at level 5. Its Mega Monkey form, Mega Acid Gunner, shoots farther-reaching and more damaging globs of acid.

Other appearances

The Glue Gunner's Glue Storm ability present since Bloons TD 5 has made appearances as a Bonus Power in the mobile version of Bloons Supermonkey 2 (alongside Corrosive Glue) and as a Basic Power card in Bloons Card Storm.

While not direct representation, in Bloons Adventure Time TD Princess Bubblegum is heavily based off the Glue Gunner, while the Slime Princess ally is a more obvious standin for the base tower.

General information

Appearance

The Glue Gunner's base form is usually portrayed as a standard monkey with brown fur, tan skin and brown eyes, equipped with a large yellow tank of glue strapped behind its back with a green hose attached.

Lore

  • Glue Gunners have the lowest IQ out of any tower.[1]
  • Glue Gunners concoct their own Monkey Glue (which is partially or wholly made from banana peels[2]), but they have a fondness for Gorilla Glue.[3]
