The editor who added this notice elaborates: Given Corvus AoA leaking to Sentinel counts as "trigger" despite no damage, does it do the same to Hero Prot? They're both "protection auras" in a way.
Hero Protection
Reduce the next damage received from an enemy Bloon to 0
Hero Protection is a Basic Powercard in Bloons Card Storm. It negates all damage dealt from one hit to the player's Hero from a Bloon leaking. For Bloons that hit multiple times (i.e. Double Attack and Triple Attack), only the first hit is blocked; Double Bloons effectively deal damage equal to their health instead of double. A blue aura emits from under the player's Hero while the effect is active.
Only one Hero Protection effect can be active on a Hero, and the card cannot be played if the effect is already active. If the player has both this card and Corvus Academy of Arts in play, leaking a Bloon uses the latter first.

Hero Protection is best used against a Bloon that will deal large amounts of damage to you in a single hit. Like on the card's art, high-Health Bloons such as ZOMGs are a great choice to negate the damage. It's still helpful against Bloons that hit more than once (e.g. Double Ceramic Bloon, Triple Threat Bloon), however be cautious, as it only blocks the first hit.
Make sure to destroy all Bloons before the one you want to be tanked by Hero Protection. Any amount of damage will be lowered to 0, even if it's from something as weak as a Swarm Red Bloon.
Likewise, if you want to disrupt the opponent's Hero Protection, send a weak bloon in the front of the queue if the other bloons have 1 delay or more.
Hero Protection is a vital tool in protecting the player against OTK or Quick Ready setups, as it forces the enemy to either use Double Trouble or have to get a Bloon leak. The often low amount of Bloons in an OTK deck makes Hero Protection a very effective card for stalling OTK setups.
Some players may use targeted delay reducers (e.g. Booster Bloon, Improved Fortification, Slowing Bloon) to alter which Bloons leak to the opponent first. It's not common for human players to do this, since it requires multiple cards that have weaker offensive or defensive value for most archetypes.
Against tempo, Hero Protection can be very effective, deterring the opponent from relying entirely on a single Bloon and forcing them to combine multiple Bloons together.
Hero Protection is still powerful against single powerful aggro cards such as Bolstered Bloon, but can be a difficult investment.
Hero Protection was nerfed during Version 6.2 playtesting, as community playtesters noted its strength as both anti-aggro and anti-OTK;[1] the nerf to its Gold cost from 3 to 5 was proposed by a community playtester.[2]
