The Dartling Gunner is a Military tower in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 22.0. It shoots darts from its Dartling Gun, which can be pointed in any direction using the cursor, rotating at a rate of 180°/s, and shots have a deviation angle of 23° from the centre. Each dart has 1 pierce and 1 damage, 2 radius, and enough projectile speed and lifespan to last across the entire map, but cannot see Camo Bloons without support or upgrades such as Advanced Targeting.

It can be upgraded to shoot lasers, missiles or independently targeting blasts of buckshot.

Dartling Gunner is decently expensive in the early-game but its infinite range, controllable shots, and fast firing makes it excel at carrying on open maps such as Muddy Puddles. Its lower-tier upgrades can be helpful in bridging the gap from early to mid game, while its stronger upgrades can serve as the win condition for a game.

• All Dartling Gunners come with a "Locked" targeting priority, causing the tower to stop moving and focusing fire on one spot. Use this targeting option if a good straightaway is available and/or player attention and micro is required elsewhere.
• Path 1 switches out the darts for energy based attacks. This path gains lots of MOAB damage and later exceptionally high pierce. Higher tiers have most of the damage locked behind a special condition, requiring the bloon to either be hit by the endpoint of the beam or be the first bloon hit by the beam depending on tier.
• Path 2 enables the Dartling to shoot deadly rocket pods that can pop any Bloon type. This makes it useful against Bloons rushes. Its final upgrade, the M.A.D, changes the tower's function - instead of being strong against rushes, it deals enormous damage to MOAB-Class Bloons.
• Path 3 switches out darts for Buckshot. These projectiles hit hard, but have much more limited range. Further upgrades enable the tower to shoot from multiple automatically-targeting barrels, making for great all-around defense.

While the Dartling Gunner released in version 22.0, assets for the tower, such as projectile textures and upgrade descriptions, existed in the game's data since launch. Early text and concept art for the tower indicates its upgrades were completely overhauled before the tower released; the original upgrade text and concept art indicates the tower was originally designed to be more similar to its iteration in Bloons TD 5 (though the rename from "Dartling Gun" to "Dartling Gunner" was already planned).
