The Flash version of Bloons Monkey City (shortened to simply Monkey City on Ninja Kiwi's website) is an Adobe Flash spin-off game in the Bloons TD series. It is based on the Flash version of Bloons TD 5 and shares many of the same assets and mechanics. It is the basis of the mobile version of Bloons Monkey City, which has very similar gameplay, but different content. This version has an exclusive second city, Bloon Dunes, and different Monkey v Monkey mechanics. This game requires either Ninja Kiwi web account or a Kongregate account to play, depending on the website.

Since May 21, 2025, BMC Flash was removed from Ninja Kiwi Archive with no official announcement. The servers are currently offline.

Exclusive content

Bloon Dunes

Main article: Bloon Dunes (BMC)

Bloon Dunes is a second city the player unlocks after reaching City Level 15 in the first city (which is named Grassy Pass in this version). It features more difficult tiles and exclusive Terrain, tracks, and Special Missions. In this version, the player unlocks the Engineer Workshop and Monkey Engineer by reaching level 5 in Bloon Dunes, rather than by completing Engineer Rescue.

The editor who added this notice elaborates: missing information about the closed beta period and the differences within, its transition in and out of open beta, the pre-beta screenshots and footage (and where they came from), and any information about its development on the blog

Ninja Kiwi registered the trademark "Monkey City" on 17 July 2012.[1] The game's right-click context menu allows the user to copy the timestamp Tue 11/20/2012.14:33:25.68, implying the game had a playable build on 20 November 2012.

Bloons Monkey City was revealed to the public at the New Zealand Game Developers Conference on 28 June 2013 (New Zealand time), in a presentation titled "Bloons Monkey City – The Evolution of IP" presented by Stephen Harris (company co-founder and chief game designer) and Lee Grey (lead engineer).[2] This presentation featured images of the game in development, such as an early screenshot of Monkey v Monkey.[3]
