Camo Bloons popped by flares permanently lose their camo.
Camo Bloons popped by this tower permanently lose their camo status, and can be attacked by towers without camo detection.
Signal Flare is the Mortar Monkey's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It gains Camo detection and each shot now removes Camo properties from any Bloon hit in its blast. With Ranks 3, 8, and 13 Monkey Knowledge for the Mortar Monkey, each shot removes Regrow properties from only Regrow Bloons (3, 4, 5, respectively) within the blast, and Bigger Blast increases the radius for this separate attack.

Strategy
This tower's decamo ability is inconsistent and lacking, especially on the Mobile version where it has a weaker blast radius and is afflicted by a bug that prevents the radius from improving with upgrades. As a result, it should instead be used to counter Camo Lead Bloons with Camo detectors that have Lead weaknesses. It has a comparable price to 2-2 Lightning Bolt and is cheaper in the multiplatform version. However, Signal Flare offers little else besides camo-detecting Burny Stuff.
With Monkey Knowledge, the ability to de-regrow is available, but is hampered by its lack of pierce, only managing to de-regrow a few Bloons at a time. Ironically, the prior upgrade Burny Stuff does a much better job at managing Regrow Bloons, due to the damage over time effect counteracting the regeneration just enough for otherwise frail defenses to combat rushes.
