Ghostly Armor can be used to protect against swarms of Bloons, including an opponent's swarm aggro, Blooming Bloon's Yellows, or the Storm's Pink Bloons. It is suitable for some archetypes, but the general low value of the card vs anything but Aggro makes it a waste of space in a deck if it already is good at dealing with Aggro.
Ghostly Armor can be used by Aggro decks to protect against damage from opposing Aggro decks.
The Armor gained from Ghostly Armor protects from all hits of Double Attack or Triple Attack Bloons. Unlike healing effects it can also protect against surprise damage, such as Pink Bloon; however the opponent will likely just choose to not attack with Pink Bloons the turn Ghostly Armor is up.
Development
This card originally only added 10 Armor, but was increased to 40 before the update released.[1] The original Armor amount was displayed in the update video.[2]
