Mine Supervisor is a Support Monkey card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 3.0. At the start of each turn, it generates 1 Bloontonium per Miner-type Monkey (Bloontonium Miners and Mine Supervisors) on the player's side, including itself.

  • Mine Supervisor's main strength is generating lots of Bloontonium in combination with Bloontonium Miners and other Mine Supervisors. It is an important Monkey for Heroes that depend on Bloontonium, such as Adora and Mountain Obyn.
  • With 3 copies of both Bloontonium Miner and Mine Supervisor, getting their Bloontonium production going in the early game is fairly consistent since the odds of not getting at least one of them in the opening hand after 3 mulligans is very low.
  • The optimal combination of miners (3 Mine Supervisors plus 2 Bloontonium Miners) gives 17 Bloontonium at the start of each round. This is enough to generate full Bloontonium or close to full (for Gwendolin, Mountain Obyn, Amelia, and Striker Jones) in a single turn.
  • The lone Mine Supervisor is simply a more expensive Bloontonium Miner with much better damage, but no immediate Bloontonium gain. As a Rare, it is also a candidate for Rare Power.
  • This card does a moderate amount of damage per turn. The Bloontonium generation gives it much more utility, and can consistently attack Bloons each round despite reduced burst damage compared to things like Crossbow Monkey.
  • While its damage per turn is decent, it still struggles against Aggro decks without additional assistance. Aggro decks should swarm early or release strong Bloons such as Blooming Bloon to make early Miners more difficult to survive.
  • Players that struggle against Mine Supervisors later on are advised to run high health Bloons to force the opponent to react to them with other cards instead of passively maximize Bloontonium.

Update history

[edit | edit source]
  • Nerf Attack Power decreased ― 45 → 40
  • Nerf Mine Supervisor no longer counts Baby Monkeys and Transformed Monkeys as Miners (bug fix)
  • Buff ATK increased ― 40 → 50

Development

[edit | edit source]

As opposed to previous balance changes for Mine Supervisor, Mine Supervisor's ATK was buffed in Version 6.4 due to how many high-health threats exist in the game such that the Miners alone are weak against a competent player.[1] Despite the ATK buff potentially being a nuisance to most newer or inexperienced players, OdysseyTOS notes in their tester commentary that Aggro and heavy Tempo decks (with high Health single Bloons) are a major threat to Miner strategies.[1]

Trivia

  • Mine Supervisor's clipboard in game is difficult to see, but it has Monklish on it that translates to: "Shopping List, Bananas, Pencils, Beard Wax".
