Overclock is the Monkey Engineer's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It unlocks an Activated Ability that allows the player to overclock a selected tower. When it is used on any tower other than Monkey Villages and Banana Farms, it doubles the towers Attack speed and in the Flash version, if the tower attacks faster than 30 times a second, doubles the pierce. When used on a Monkey Village, its range increases by 25%, and when used on a Banana Farm in the Flash version, it generates 1 round worth of income. The ability lasts for 60 seconds and has a cooldown of 45 seconds.

In the multiplatform version, the cooldown starts as soon as the player presses the ability button, provided that a tower is selected during the selection screen.

In the Flash version, there is a bug where leaving the Overclock selection menu open after winning a tile capture would allow the next placed tower to receive the Overclock buff.

Overclock can be a powerful ability if used on single powerful towers. Some of the best candidates include Sun God and Aircraft Carrier.

In the Flash version, it is helpful to use the Overclock bug to boost a to-be single powerful tower in Boss Battles with any tower except Blastapopoulos. Simply play any game with the Overclock selection menu active at the end of a tile capture, including My Tracks, to activate the bug.

In the multiplatform version, due to the unpressable lag that may occur in high rounds of Contested Territory, Overclock may not be as important as cycling through Absolute Zero and Sabotage Supply Lines.

Trivia

• As the Monkey Engineer in BMC is based on an older version that is later updated in Bloons TD 5 Deluxe, Overclock lacks an ability sound.
• Overclock is the face of the Legendary Monkey Knowledge card for the Monkey Engineer in the Flash version.
