Bloontonium Leak is an Advanced Power card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 4.0. It removes all Bloontonium from both players. It is playable even if both players have no Bloontonium.

The card artwork depicts a monkey with a hardhat running away from several bloated silos that have pipes leaking out Bloontonium gas.

  • Bloontonium Leak is a card that provides value in stalling strategies, but requires knowledge of how to build a stall deck and when to use it. It is most often paired with Red Bloon Apopalypse as a way to lock down the opponent and prevent them from popping their own Red Bloons, or to prevent Obyn from building up shield with Nature’s Shield. It also prevents Zee Jay from OTKing with Rad Bloon, and can potentially threaten aggressive Amelia strategies.
    • If using any hero other than Zee Jay, using Bloontonium before activating is often recommended.
    • Bloontonium Saboteur can often be used in more general situations where you’d want to remove the opponent’s Bloontonium, although both only allow for limited denial of Bloontonium and may not create much value in the long term.
  • Haunting Night, despite costing 2 Gold more, is generally more practical, acting in a similar role as Bloontonium Leak but having much more general use on top of performing nearly the same as Bloontonium Leak in more specialized stall strategies.

Development

edit

The Bloontonium Leak buff in Version 6.4 was due to Haunting Night's Bloontonium steal outclassing the mutual Bloontonium removal, despite 1 Gold difference.[1] The lowered cost makes it more viable for just removing the enemy's Bloontonium.[1] Although not stated in the commentary, this change improves the viability of tactics such as stopping Adora's Sun Shield.
