Highwayman Jericho is a Hero Alt of Agent Jericho in Bloons TD Battles 2, introduced in version 10.0. He costs

Highwayman Jericho uses a flintlock pistol to attack Bloons within his range, dealing 3 damage per shot. He cannot pop frozen Bloons or Lead Bloons and cannot detect Camo Bloons. He is very similar to Agent Jericho, with his only gameplay differences being his Activated Abilities. As he levels up, his range, damage, and attack speed increase, he gains Camo detection, and he unlocks multiple passive and active methods of disrupting the opponent.
- Starting at level 2, he periodically adds an extra layer to natural Bloons on the opponent's side. At higher levels, he can add Bloon Mods and enhance sent Bloons as well.
- Starting at level 4, he reduces the cost of sending Bloons with Bloon Mods.
- He has two Activated Abilities:
- Stand and Deliver (level 3) — Steals a certain amount of cash from the opponent and forcibly sells one of their towers if they do not have enough cash saved. At higher levels, it steals more cash.
- Misdirection (level 10) — Moves the strongest MOAB or BFB on the player's side to the opponent's side. At higher levels, it can also move DDTs and ZOMGs and can heal the Bloon it sends.

Mechanics

[edit | edit source]Jericho fires a shot with his pistol every 0.9 seconds that deals 3 sharp-type damage. Each shot collides with the target instantly without any travel time and can only hit one Bloon. Its pierce cannot be buffed.

Bloon Adjustment
[edit | edit source]Bloon Adjustment is a passive mechanic that unlocks at level 2. It causes every fourth natural Bloon that spawns on the opponent's side to gain an extra layer. It cannot add layers to Purple Bloons, Lead Bloons, Ceramic Bloons, or MOAB-Class Bloons. Adjusted White Bloons and Black Bloons both become Zebra Bloons.

Bloon Mod buffs
[edit | edit source]Starting at level 4, Jericho is able to reduce the cost modifiers of Bloon Mods for Bloon sends.

Abilities

Stand and Deliver is unlocked at level 3. It steals $200 from the opponent and gives it to the player. If the opponent has less than the required amount when the ability is activated, it attempts to forcibly sell one non-Hero tower on the opponent's side, returning 100% of its cash value to the opponent instead of the usual 70%, before stealing their cash. It normally picks the lowest cost tower that makes up the difference, but if there are no towers that make up the difference, the highest cost tower is chosen instead. If multiple towers have the same cost, the game seemingly picks one target at random. If no eligible towers are on-screen, no tower is sold.
It has a 100-second cooldown and a 35-second initial cooldown. Jericho stops using his pistol attack for 0.8 seconds after activating the ability.
Towers being sacrificed by Adora can still be force-sold, causing the sacrifice to get interrupted.

Misdirection

Misdirection is unlocked at level 10. It causes Jericho to throw a seeking projectile that targets the strongest MOAB or BFB on the player's side. The projectile can pass through line of sight blockers and through Bloons that are not the target. On contact, it deals no damage, but inflicts an effect on the target that makes it untargetable by all towers, immune to all damage, unable to collide with projectiles, and move at the same speed as a ZOMG (including speed ramping in later rounds) for 3 seconds. When the effect ends, the target disappears and reappears on the opponent's natural Bloon path.
This ability has an 80-second cooldown and a 20-second initial cooldown. After activation, it skips 75% of its cooldown if the target is a MOAB or 50% if it is a BFB. Jericho stops using his pistol attack for 1 second after activating the ability.

Strategy
[edit | edit source]Highwayman Jericho, while outshadowed by his strong Agent counterpart in versatility and Star Captain counterpart in rushing potential, can still work as a more defensive Jericho. Like the other Jerichos, he requires a strong two tower combo to defend all the rounds, as his pistol is rather weak at defending against grouped Bloons, alongside Banana Farm in order to supply money for rushes.
His Stand and Deliver provides some money generation and can sometimes provide rushing opportunities when the weakest tower is sold, but it has a long cooldown. Because of this, Highwayman Jericho on round 1 is almost never worth it, as the second use of Stand and Deliver should be delayed to when he reaches level 6 and gains more money off of it. His Misdirection ability can shore up a weakness against spaced BFBs or DDTs when they first appear, forcing opponents to send more of them to pressure or not send it at all.
Like all Jerichos, his Bloon Adjustment is strong in forcing early camo detection and providing defensive struggles on tougher rounds in the late 10s and early 20s.
