*Ghost Monkey has weird interactions when affecting Monkeys without a visible ammo stat, many of which are non-attacking Monkeys. Notably, it cannot eliminate Druid of Peace, Radar Scanner Village, or Quincy Action Figure without removing its ammo.
*Ghost Monkey notably cannot eliminate Druid of Peace, Radar Scanner Village, or Quincy Action Figure due to those cards having a hidden 1 ammo.
*Monkeys with no visible ammo or reload have hidden ammo and reload stats. Almost all have 0 ammo/reload, but some have different stats which cause inconsistencies with its use. The three Monkeys mentioned above that Ghost Monkey doesn’t remove have their inconsistencies created by having a hidden 1 ammo, making it so that they cannot be removed. If Ghost Monkey is used, the Monkey it’s used on has its ammo manually removed using Whoops or Ceasefire, and then is stunned using Stunned, the Monkey will successfully be removed. Doing this in-game is very impractical and is much more effort than it’s worth.

Ghost Monkey is a Basic Power card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 6.0. It reloads a target Monkey and gives it the Temporary keyword. It can target a Monkey that already has full ammo, which simply gives it the Temporary keyword. Monkeys that have an ammo stat and are already Temporary (e.g. Ceramic Glazing Kiln, Robo Monkey) simply reload. The Temporary removal effect happens after Necromancers activate their On Turn End effect.

The card artwork portrays a Ghost Monkey coming out of a Dart Monkey during the night.

  • Ghost Monkey has the same cost as Quick Reload and the same reloading effect, except it also makes the Monkey Temporary and has a different rarity. Quick Reload is better for reloading your own Monkeys, but this card can also act as Monkey removal by being used on the opponent.
    • Note that opponents may avoid letting the affected Monkey attack if the damage aspect is irrelevant. Some cards that this comes up with are cards with useful passive effects, such as Blade Maelstrom, Grand Saboteur, or Jungle’s Bounty Druid.
      • Mortars have no control of when they attack, making Ghost Monkey effective at removing them.
      • Sometimes players will intentionally use up the affected Monkey's ammo if they want to follow up with Expert Negotiator next turn to steal one of your Monkeys.
  • Ammo removal cards such as Whoops and Ceasefire on the opponent's Monkeys can be used to allow Ghost Monkey to act like a true Monkey removal. Note that the real removal only occurs at the end of the owner's turn if the affected Temporary Monkey has no ammo, and that this is a two-card combo.
  • This card has no downside if used on a friendly Temporary Monkey. In particular, using it on Shinobi Tactics Ninja or Robo Monkey can get you a lot of value.
  • Ghost Monkey notably cannot eliminate Druid of Peace, Radar Scanner Village, or Quincy Action Figure due to those cards having a hidden 1 ammo.
