Laser Blasts is the Super Monkey's path 1 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It replaces the Super Monkey's darts with lasers that have 2 pierce instead of 1 and can pop frozen Bloons. In the Flash version, despite appearing to shoot two lasers at a time in parallel, each shot is actually a single projectile. In the mobile version, the two lasers are separate projectiles, each with two pierce. Since Robo Monkey and Technological Terror already shoot two projectiles at a time, they don't benefit from the projectiles being separate, so they only benefit from the increased pierce when crosspathed.

Strategy

On the mobile version, the doubled projectile count makes it much stronger than even the upgrade after it, Plasma Blasts, when used on a lower-tier Super Monkey. This makes it a cheap way to bolster MOAB-class damage with little effort. On the Flash version however, the extra 1 pierce does not equate to much in damage per cost, and should be considered merely a stepping stone to Plasma Blasts, which fires much faster and has more pierce for an efficient price.
