Laser Cannon is the Dartling Gun's path 1 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It sets the attack cooldown to 0.086s (increasing the base attack speed by ~32%), gives an additional 12 pierce, and allows it to pop Frozen Bloons. Since the cooldown is set, Monkey Knowledge does not affect the attack speed of this upgrade.

Strategy

On the Flash version of Bloons Monkey City, Laser Cannon is a consistent attacker with very high attack speed and pierce for the cost, with the only caveat being the need to micro to take advantage of it. On the multiplatform version of Bloons Monkey City however, this upgrade's attack speed isn't noticeable and becomes worse the higher Monkey Knowledge the player has.

In both versions, it's more cost-effective to spam as many Faster Barrel Spin Dartlings instead until the tower limit is reached, then slowly upgrading these Dartlings to Laser Cannon on the flash version. It is almost never worth it to upgrade on the multiplatform version, as Hydra Rocket Pods is usually just better.

Powerful Darts isn't necessary for the base Laser Cannon, due to its already high base pierce and fast projectiles, unless it transitioned from Faster Barrel Spin. However, Depleted Bloontonium can be useful to deal with Lead Bloons and DDT.
