Silas is a Hero to be introduced in version 50.0. He can be unlocked for
5,000 starting at level 25.
He is an Ice Monkey capable of using magic to attack Bloons and has great synergy with them. He is placeable on both land and water and freezes water around him, as well as creating a cold aura that reduces the speed of Bloon in his radius, much like Arctic Wind. His main attack covers Bloons in rime, or freezes Bloons that are already rimed, and causes them to take extra damage from other sources.
As he levels up, he provides a passive buff to other Ice Monkeys which allows them to create Ice Fragments while attacking which behave in a similar way to his main attack. He also can create Ice Walls over the track that freezes Bloons that make contact with them, reduces the resistance of White and Zebra Bloons to ice attacks and increases its own XP by having Ice Monkeys nearby, and allows the player to have an additional Tier 5 Ice Monkey, in a similar way on how
Master Double Cross works, but with any of the three paths.
Mechanics
| This article is in need of research. You can help out by editing this article or discussing your findings on the talk page. The editor who added this notice elaborates: Information presented in this section is based on the level descriptions and early access videos and might be inaccurate. It will be revised after release. |
Main attack
Silas attack Bloons by creating an orb of magical ice and then launching it towards its target, and after hitting it, it will automatically search for other targets, in a similar way to how Quincy's ricocheting arrows work. Bloons hit by the orb are rimed, rimed bloons hit are frozen, and frozen bloons hit create a damaging explosion. The attack does no damage at level 1, but does bonus damage to rimed and frozen bloons. Silas inflicts Frigid damage has camo detection by default.
At Level 6, he will be able to attack in the range all other Ice Monkeys in the map if he has line of sight, like an Advanced Intel Monkey Sub. When doing so, the orb will be generated and launched from the closest Ice Monkey to the target. Damage is increased at Levels 12 and 16 and area damage to rimed and frozen Bloons is also increased at Level 18.
Rime
Rime is a status effect that Silas main attack inflicts on Bloons and is represented by the presence of ice crystals on the Bloon's body, and it can affect MOAB-Class Bloons, except BADs. It slows down Bloons affected by it. At Level 18, rimed Bloons take more damage from ice attacks.
Slowing aura
Silas has an Arctic Wind aura around him that slows down Bloons inside of their range, it does not affect MOAB-Class Bloons until Silas reaches Level 11 and the Bloon speed is further decreased at Levels 11 and 18.
Ice Shards
Silas provides several boosts to Ice Monkeys, at Level 2, any Ice Monkey on his radius can produce Ice Shards while attacking that will orbit them and can damage Bloons that collide with them, like the orbital glaives of Glaive Lord. The Ice Shards will remain for a few seconds on around the tower before disappearing. The damage of the Ice Shards is increased at Level 9, pierce is increased at Levels 9 and 19, damage against frozen Bloons is increased at Level 16 and 19 and the amount of Ice Shards increased at Level 14 and also at 16 for Tier 3 Monkeys.
Other buffs to Ice Monkeys
At Level 8, Silas grants Ice Monkeys of the map a range increase and at Level 13, he reduces the cost of the Tier 5 upgrades by 25% of Ice Monkeys on his radius and will allow the player to have a fourth Tier 5 Ice Monkey, in a similar way on how
Master Double Cross works, but for any of the three paths.
Ice Walls
Starting at Level 4, Silas will start creating Ice Walls in his radius located over the track. When Bloons collide with them, they will be knocked back a short distance and become frozen. MOAB-Class Bloons are also affected, but with a reduced freeze duration and an increased pierce penalty. The Ice Walls will disappear by their own after several seconds. The pierce and duration of the Ice Walls is increased at Level 12 and 19 and Silas will create them more often at Level 20.
Freeze buffs
At level 5 Silas increases the duration of the Freeze status that other towers inflict. In addition to Ice Monkeys, it also benefits Ball Lightning, Monarch of Storms, Tidal Chill, Riptide Champion, Arctic Knight, Popseidon and Cold Sentries from Sentry Expert. This bonus is increased at Level 20.
White Bloon debuffs
At Level 5, Silas produces a map-wide affect that gives Cold, Glacier or Frigid attacks a chance of damaging White or Zebra Bloons, working in the same way Striker Jones does for Black Bloons. This chance is applied separately for each Bloon, so, for example, a freezing shot that hits two White Bloons may damage one White Bloon but not the other. The immunity is completely removed at Level 13.
Extra XP
When Silas reaches Level 8, he will gain an additional amount of Hero XP every round for every Tier 3 Ice Monkey on the map.
Abilities
| This section is incomplete. You can help out by expanding it. The editor who added this notice elaborates: Additional information to be determined after release |
Frostbite
Frostbite unlocks Level 3. When the ability is active, Silas main attack can damage any type of Bloon (Normal damage) and if it hits a frozen Bloon it will take additional damage which increases with the amount of time remaining of the frozen status. The damage that frozen Bloons take is increased at Levels 9, 15 and 20. Ability duration is increased at Level 15.
Frozen Cascade
Frozen Cascade unlocks at Level 7. This ability creates a series of explosions around Silas and the 10 nearest Ice Monkeys which freezes Bloons caught in the explosion radius and deals extra damage to already frozen targets. The first explosion is centered around Silas, and then propagate to other Ice Monkeys in order of distance. The damage that frozen Bloons take is increased and cooldown is reduced at Level 15.
Frozen Burial
Frozen Burial unlocks at Level 10. It damages and freezes all Bloons on the map, dealing extra damage to already frozen targets. It then leaves a series of Ice Walls over all tracks. The damage that frozen Bloons take is increased and cooldown is reduced at Level 15.

| 14 | Ice Monkeys create more orbiting Ice Shards when they attack. |
| 15 | Frozen Bloons take more damage from all abilities. Frostbite lasts longer, and Frozen Cascade and Frozen Burial have shorter cooldowns. |
| 16 | Main attack does more area damage to rimed and frozen Bloons, and orbiting Ice Shards do more damage to frozen Bloons. |
| 17 | Tier 3 Ice Monkeys create even more Ice Shards. |
| 18 | Slowing aura around Silas slows Bloons even more. Rimed Bloons take even more damage from cold attacks, and main attack does more area damage to rimed and frozen Bloons. |
| 19 | Ice Walls have more pierce & lifespan, Ice Shards pierce more and deal even more damage to frozen Bloons[sic] |
| 20 | Frozen Bloons take even more damage during Frostbite. Silas creates Ice Walls more often. Monkeys that freeze Bloons freeze them yet longer again. |

Pre-release
Announcement
Silas was announced in the update notes for version 49.0, though it revealed little about him other than that he is a "Vanilla Ice Ice Hero".
Dev Diary #2
The next time that Ninja Kiwi talked about Silas was in the BTD6 Dev Diary #2[2], although the new information was limited as the post focused on the new map Lost Crevasse.
The ability teased in this post appears to have been cut from the final release, as Silas does not interact with the ice crystals on the map, nor with tower placement in general, aside from freezing water around him.
TikTok teasers
Ninja Kiwi released multiple short teaser videos on their TikTok page where they attempt to conduct an interview with Silas, who hides in the company office's refrigerator before running off into the mountains, with the final video showing his unlock splash screen. These videos also revealed the gift codes SILAS and ICEBLOCK.
