Glaive Lord is the Boomerang Monkey's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6.

With this upgrade, three glaives orbit the Boomerang Monkey that rapidly damage any Bloons within close range, including Camo Bloons. Despite its appearance, the attack is simply an area of effect that damages Bloons inside it at a constant rate every 0.05s but its damage cannot soak through multiple layers; the orbiting glaives are purely visual. The area of effect has a radius of 30 (40 with 5-0-1), deals 4 damage per tick, +4 to Ceramic Bloons, and can hit up to 200 Bloons at a time (230 with Extra Bounce Extra Bounce).

In addition, the Boomerang Monkey's base attack deals +5 damage, +10 to Ceramic Bloons, can bounce to new targets from any distance, can re-hit Bloons it has already hit after 0.6 seconds, and now applies a damage over time effect to the first MOAB-Class Bloon it hits, dealing 100 damage to it every second for 10 seconds. The effect does not stack with itself, nor does it soak through multiple layers.

With Long Range Rangs crosspath the orbital glaive area of effect's size by 15% and when upgraded further to Red Hot Rangs the damage of orbital glaives and base attack are increased by 2 and allows it to pop Lead Bloons and Frozen Bloons. Additionally this crosspath allows MOAB shred to hit DDTs if the Glaive Lord can see Camo.

Strategy

Glaive Lord is among the most powerful Tier 5 towers for its cost. Its ricocheting glaives bounce repeatedly all over the map and deal massive damage to everything in sight, while the rotating glaives clean up large clumps of MOABs and ceramics with ease. It also deals solid single-target damage thanks to the DoT shredding effect inflicted by the 1st hit of each ricocheting glaive.

The 5-2-0 crosspath gives Glaive Lord the most power, as it increases attack speed of the thrown glaives that do the majority of Glaive Lord's damage, especially on Expert maps. However, 5-2-0 cannot pop Leads and DDTs without MIB or other lead-popping support, and it is often not worth it to get them just to obtain the 5-2-0 crosspath. Therefore, use the 5-2-0 crosspath if lead-popping support is already obtained or will needed for other towers as well, and use the 5-0-2 if lead-popping support is not needed for anything else. Glaive Lord is best placed near a bend to maximize the power of its rotating glaives, and if bends are not present, attempt to place it so that its rotating glaives have the widest coverage possible.

In efforts to cut down on unnecessarily high pierce for more reliable base stats Glaive Lord is having its excessive orbit pierce converted into high base ceramic damage bonus on the orbit & an added bonus to the main attack as well.

In many situations, especially moving into the deeper lategame, T4 MOAR Glaives didn’t quite feel like enough of a step up over the T3; leading on into the high ceramic cleanup of the T5 we have decided to introduce that ceramic bonus earlier at T4 along with allowing Glaives to overcome their long-standing weakness of being consumed by nearby blockers at T4 with MOAR Glaives ignoring all blocking objects completely.

Glaive Lord’s main thrown attacks will now be able to bounce back again and hit the same target multiple times, this can be a very powerful effect so there is a cooldown on how frequently any single Bloon can be re-targeted.

With Glaive Lord being the big winner of recent balance, there is a price gap among towers that fill a similar gameplay role so instead of taking away too much power we’re pushing its price up slightly to fit into that gap.
