Boomerang Monkey (simply named the Boomerang in the beta tests) is a Primary Monkey card in Bloons Card Storm. It deals 30 damage to the previous Bloon of the target Bloon on the opponent's Bloon track, if one exists. The second hit's damage is independent from its ATK and is unaffected by ATK modifiers, such as Divination or Weakening Gas Bloon.

Three Boomerang Monkey cards unlock upon completing Card Storm 101. Rang Bloons can generate Boomerang Monkey cards during a match.

The card artwork depicts a Boomerang Monkey throwing a boomerang with its left hand. This takes place at a desert, with palms hidden in the background, and a Dutch angle shot tilted to the right.

Tips

This section was last updated for: version 6.2
  • Boomerang Monkey heavily relies on its back hit to compete against other early-game options, by default dealing 10 damage more than its main attack. In optimal conditions, it does 50 damage per turn when two or more Bloons are on screen. If possible, always let it attack one square behind the Bloon that should take the most damage.
  • The Boomerang Monkey is much weaker than other early-game Monkeys, and much weaker against exactly one Bloon. Its biggest rival is Triple Shot, which for the same cost does 10 more total damage against 3 targets while doing the same total damage versus 1, but 10 less against 2.
  • Rang Bloon can help build up Boomerang Monkeys, but generally not advised because Boomerang Monkeys are expensive to place early on.

Development

During Version 6.2 playtesting, the Boomerang Monkey got reworked to have a stronger back hit compared to the base ATK, as initially proposed by Ninja Kiwi.[1] A community playtester noted that this indirectly buffed Rang Bloon as well, and congratulated Boomerang Monkey's long-requested buff since the last time it got nerfed into irrelevancy (due to it being considered outclassed by many other early-game Monkeys since launch).[2]
