Ability Ban is an Exotic Powercard in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 2.0. It prevents both the player and the opponent from using their Hero's abilities, including passive abilities, until the end of the player's next turn, when the player presses the "end turn" button. The player can play multiple copies of this card on the same turn, though the other copies do nothing other than consuming the card and Gold.
While active, each player has a large red 'Banned' text on a translucent black rectangle, overlapping the ability menus of both players.
Ability Ban can be used in combo decks to shut down Adora in the late game. This is particularly handy when going against Adora and your deck heavily involves OTK strategies.
If you go Adora yourself and are defending from a large rush with Sun Shield, note the opponent's most likely deck archetype, and avoid exceeding leak amount if the opponent is midrange. Versus combo decks, be the aggressor and overwhelm the opponent before they can build their wincon.
Players can combine with multiple Quick Ready on the same turn as an Ability Ban to prevent the opponent from defending against rushes, especially against Adora's Sun Shield.
Obyn has little effect from Ability Ban when he is not going to use his actives. Obyn control decks may use Ability Ban to outlast other Hero decks.
Despite primarily being a hard counter to Adora, Ability Ban can be used to slow down other Heroes, such as Gwendolin's Flame Strike or Zee Jay's Rad Bloon Time.
For Striker Jones, this card has the beneficial effect of increasing the Bloontonium he gains from played Bloons, since it disables the Bloontonium penalty from his passive ability.
There's not much reason to equip more than one Ability Ban in a deck, as its main strength is in conjunction with a finisher, and it has too many downsides elsewhere.
