Try this! is an Exotic Power card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 2.0. It increases the target Monkey's max ammo by 1 and grants it one ammo. If the target had no ammo, the added ammo will allow the target to attack again, but it does not count as reloading; it does not trigger any On Reload effects, does not reset the counter for the next reload, and stops the counter from progressing until the Monkey is out of ammo again.
Tips
- Try this! benefits Monkeys with only 1 Ammo the most. Good targets for Try this! include:
- The Big One, allowing it to deal up to 560 damage at the end of a turn.
- Spike-o-Pult, allowing it to ramp up twice as fast provided that there are enough Bloons on the field.
- Wizard Monkey, essentially doubles up its scaled power, making it a solid choice for consistent high damage.
- Burny Stuff Mortar, giving it more chances to set opposing Bloons On Fire, particularly for Gwendolin decks.
- Dire Wolf, because of its 1 reload, moderately high ATK, and splash damage.
- Opponents who use Return to Sender, Shrink, and Expert Negotiator may take advantage of Monkeys with Try this! to negate the investment.
- If you have multiple of the same type of Monkey, it may be better to split Try this! across multiple Monkeys if suspecting any monkey removal cards.
- A lesser known feature of Try this! is immediately granting 1 extra shot to the targeted Monkey. For 1 less Gold than Quick Reload, Try this! acts as a "reload" to 1-Ammo Monkeys, in addition to the permanent max ammo bonus.
- Because of this, a very niche tactic of Try this! is to use it on an opponent Monkey with more than 1 Ammo, which will delay the full reload by 1 turn, at the penalty of "helping" build more ammo.
