Super Monkeys provide significant burst against bloons, dealing upwards of 270 damage on its first turn. Overall, it is a space-efficient tower for control decks, dealing 90 damage per turn.
Equipping multiple Super Monkeys is great for damage. Its slow reload may make fast 1 or 2 delay Bloons able to attack without Super Monkey being able to attack them, but this issue can be mitigated by combining Super Monkey with lower reload Monkeys, like MOAB Dominator.
With 3 ammo, Super Monkey can distribute among multiple strong bloons or a single Bloon. If all Bloons have very low health, not using remaining shots can be safely done if next round contains stronger Bloons from the Storm or anticipating the opponent sending a stronger Bloon.
Super can work in a pinch versus Aggro to deal with strong pushes, but be weary of the high 9 Gold price on Super, especially if the opponent has Gold sabotage cards such as Fright Night or Eco Drain.
Super Monkey can be used against all types of decks, except aggro. Not only is it good against tempo decks, it's strong against utility Bloons that OTK decks tend to use to make OTK easier to use.
During Version 6.2 playtests, Super Monkey was discussed by community playtesters to be a "fantastic burst" of damage with the highest burst damage in the entire game and immense flexibility against a variety of deck archetypes.[1][2] Nerfing it to 9 Gold was justified to make it a little less effective against aggro and fast-paced tempo while not changing much against ordinary tempo or OTK.[1]
