Economy Drain is an Advanced Power card in Bloons Card Storm introduced in version 6.0. It reduces both players' economy by up to 3. Economy cannot go lower than 0. This card can be played if economy of both players are already at 0 but will do nothing except consume the card.
The card artwork depicts Monkeys in business suits reacting to a stock market crash. Papers are thrown everywhere, most screens feature charts that have a downward trend, and the monkeys have mixed reactions.

- For only 2 Gold, Economy Drain chokes the base eco of both players. Farm-based loadouts (including tempo Farm loadouts) are less affected by Economy Drain. Most decks rely on base eco to gain Gold, and this card is especially favorable for Banana Farm users.
- Conveniently, a normal Banana Farm earns 2 Gold at the start of a turn; Economy Drain is affordable on the following turn.
- Aggro can use Economy Drain to make the enemy unable to afford powerful anti-Aggro options, such as Frag Bomb Shooter, Super Monkey, Bionic Boomerang, and more. Keep an eye of how much money the opponent spends and saves to find the right time to use this card.
- Many powerful cheap cards tend to cost 4 Gold (e.g. Return to Sender). Other thresholds to look out for are 6, 7, 9, and 10; these costs usually imply Bionic, Frags, Super, and SMS, respectively.
- The best time to use Eco Drain is when your side has better income generation and Bloons on the field than the opponent, and the opponent is trying to save up with the next turn's eco. Calculate the opponent's eco gains next round, plus other income sources (if any), to anticipate what they're trying to buy.
- Some cards and their combinations that cost between costing either 9 or 10 Gold are affected a lot by Economy Drain, preventing cards being guaranteed to be affordable next turn when it would normally be max eco. Notable examples include Super Monkey Storm.
Development
This card originally reduced economy by 5, but it was lowered to 3 before the update released due to feedback from community playtesters.[1] The original amount was displayed in the update video.[2]
