Blooncyclopedia:Code of conduct

From Blooncyclopedia, the independent Bloons knowledge base

On Blooncyclopedia, we expect our editors to be respectful towards others and each other. We encourage anyone to contribute and join our community, so we expect our users to abide by our code of conduct to be as welcoming as possible — the Bloons community has a history of elitism and belittling that we want nothing to do with.

All editors are equal

All editors are to be treated equally, with no individual editor revered as more important than another. Everyone's opinion is granted the same weight, irrespective of user groups.

Assume good faith

Sometimes Blooncyclopedia gets edits from anonymous or inexperienced users that are poorly written and ignore basic writing standards. These edits often look like vandalism, but in most of these cases, the user is just trying to help and simply doesn't know better. (When vandals and trolls act in bad faith, they're usually a lot less subtle about it.) If an IP or new user keeps making the same mistakes, politely explain what they're doing wrong on their talk page and don't belittle them for making mistakes. You should only get the attention of staff if the user keeps making those mistakes after being reminded/warned repeatedly.

Keep it (mostly) clean

Profanity on Blooncyclopedia is only allowed in talk pages, the forum, and the Discord server, and should be kept to a minimum. On talk pages and the forum, please keep it PG-13. (You can probably say your piece in a much funnier way without any of those four-letter words anyway.)

No personal attacks

We do not tolerate personal attacks. These will be met with administrative action, including permanent bans in extreme cases. Personal attacks include, but are not limited to:

  • Inflammatory, hateful, offensive, and age-inappropriate comments
  • Threats of violence, doxing, or legal action
  • Encouraging self-harm

If you're criticizing someone else's contributions, be sure to comment only on their content and not target the user.
