Bloontonium Reactor is the Monkey Sub's path 1 tier 4 upgrade in the multiplatform version of Bloons Monkey City. It allows the submerged mode to provide the following additional benefits:
- Reduces the cooldown of the First Strike and Monkey Pirate ability by ~17.64%.[fn 1]
- Adds a shock Damage over time effect to Bloons within the radius of the sub that does 1 damage every 0.5 seconds.
Attack speed buffs including from Monkey Knowledge does not affect its damage-over-time effect.

Strategy
Similar to its previous upgrade, the Bloontonium Reactor struggles to find a proper placement on many tracks due to lack of water placement. It doesn't increase its decamo speed, and the speed of the damage-over-time effect often doesn't fully pop Bloons stronger than a Pink Bloon on most tracks, and all speed buffs doesn't improve that rate. Even on its most optimal spots, it fails to pop Ceramic Bloons. As a result, this upgrade is difficult to justify using outside of Contested Territory, or Monkey Teams in Lead-deficient loadouts.
Due to the ability cooldown stacking bug, it can be used in CT on maps with a lot of water to reduce the cooldown of some First Strike Capability subs to almost nothing, and deliver its massive damage missile multiple times per turn. Due to the limited amount of Subs per city, a ratio of about 1:2 First Strikes and Reactors should maximize the rate of abilities.
