Spike Storm is the Spike Factory's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It unlocks an Activated Ability that shoots out 200 MOAB-SHREDR Spikes spread out across the track. These spikes inherit the crosspath of the Spike Factory before activating the ability. On the multiplatform version of Bloons Monkey City, the spikes coalesce near the Spike Factory's location, resulting in more damage being done to nearby MOAB-Class Bloons.

Strategy

[edit | edit source]

Spike Storm is a powerful burst damage to MOAB-class, especially with Monkey Knowledge, being one of the best ways to deal a lot of MOAB-class damage. In Contested Territory, it is one of the many towers that should be placed and supported by buffs.

In the multiplatform version, its capability to hit targets immediately from the spawn location makes it one of the most efficient ways of damaging Boss Bloons if it can be afforded. Sell-and-rebuy strategies give the fastest burst of damage and give enough money to sustain it. Once the Boss is out of range of the Boss's hitbox, use a spam Spike Storm strategy supported by 4-1 Energy Beacons plus one Spike Storm that is continuously bought and sold again for the ability, preferrably inside the Boss's hitbox as soon as it's possible again.

In the Flash version, while its role remains the same in dealing big damage to MOABs and Bosses, it does not focus spikes nearby it, resulting in a tower that is less effective when bought and resold. Especially with high Monkey Knowledge and Energy Beacon, it is often not worth it to sell and rebuy as the cooldown is fast enough to leave it alone and let it cool down.

Always crosspath with at least Bigger Stacks, as this substantial pierce bonus affects the ability as well. White Hot Spikes can be added to pop DDTs in the Flash version, affect Dreadbloon, or ensure Lead Bloons and Frozen Bloons (with Ice-centric strategies) don't block its spikes.
