Swelling Spikes is a type of Artifact in the Rogue Legends DLC for Bloons TD 6. It increases the pierce of Spike Factories (amount of spikes on a stack) by a significant amount but in exchange it halves the production rate. In general all rarities of the Artifact increase the overall spike production and the pierce bonus increases with the rarity of the Artifact. It also adds a 1-0-1 / 2-0-1 / 2-0-0 Spike Factory to the Party. The player unlocks the Common variant by default.
A useful boost for any Spike Factory, although the attack speed penalty is harsh, it can be mitigated by any other Artifacts that boost attack speed like Quickening or Support Specialist. Also it is recommended to put the Spike Factories at the end of the track and using any type of stalling to let them build a spike piles while the Bloons travel across the map.
Top (until Spiked Balls), middle, and bottom path Spike Factories benefit the most from this artifact, however, players using Spiked Mines or Super Mines should be careful while using this Artifact in combination a very high amount of pierce buffs because, if the pierce is too high, Bloons will not be able to consume all the pierce of the mine before the round ends to trigger their powerful explosions, and in very late stages on CHIMPS, some MOAB-Class Bloons will be able to just pass over the mines without causing any explosions.
