An expensive source of lead-popping, but may be necessary for Monkey Teams involving Dartling to avoid dependence on [[Exploding Pineapple (BMC)|Exploding Pineapple]]s. Only purchase on a single dartling when spamming them, as the DPS lost from a few darts hitting Lead Bloons does not outweigh the expensive cost of upgrading them all to Depleted Bloontonium. On the Flash version, players should have enough money to upgrade all their Dartlings to it to defend against DDTs once they come.

Depleted Bloontonium is not as cost-efficient for unshielded [[Dreadbloon (BMC)|Dreadbloon]] defense compared to other options, but can be done very early into a city's life, only requiring research of a tier 2 upgrade instead of most options requiring a tier 3 to be effective.
