The Glue Gunner is a Primary tower in Bloons TD 6. It shoots a drop of glue that will slow a non MOAB-class Bloon down by 50% for 11s, and soaks up to 3 bloon layers. It can be upgraded to deal massive damage with corrosive glue, glue and weaken a lot of Bloons, or slow down MOAB-Class Bloons.

Mechanics

The Glue Gunner's attack shoots a glob of glue at a rate of 1 per second. The glob has 1 pierce and cannot collide with Camo Bloons or MOAB-Class Bloons. It inflict a glue effect on contact that causes Bloons to move 50% slower, lasting for 11 seconds or until its outer three layers are popped, whichever comes first.

The Glue Gunner's glue has a "glue level" system that determines which types of glue can be overridden by other types of glue from other upgrade paths. The Glue Gunner cannot target or glue Bloons that are afflicted with glue of the same level or higher, but it can target and glue Bloons that have lower level glue. If a glued Bloon is glued by higher-level glue, its glue is overridden.

Notes

• 2-0-5 Super Glue with Corrosive Glue (level 5) can target Bloons glued by The Bloon Solver (level 6), but its projectiles will not collide with those Bloons.
• MOAB Glue and above will not remove damage over time caused by Corrosive Glue or above, since the damage over time is technically a separate debuff from the slowing effect. Bloons that had Dissolver, Liquefier, or Solver overridden will still display the green glue visual overlay until the damage over time expires.
• Glue from the Tube of Amaz-o-Glue has glue level 5.

Path 1

Glue Soak

Tier 1 — 150 XP to unlock

Glue soaks through all layers of Bloon.

This upgrade allows the Glue Gunner's glue to apply to all layers of a Bloon instead of wearing off after popping the top three layers. Its glue cannot soak through MOAB-Class Bloon layers, even when it is able to target and glue them, with exception of Glue Strike and Glue Storm abilities with this crosspath.

Corrosive Glue

Tier 2 — 550 XP to unlock

Glued Bloons pop one layer every few seconds.

This upgrade causes the Glue Gunner's glue to additionally apply damage over time, making Bloons glued by it take 1 Acid-type damage every 2 seconds until the glue expires. This upgrade also allows the Glue Gunner to target and glue MOAB-Class Bloons, inflicting damage-over-time but not slowing them unless crosspathed with MOAB Glue, and allows its glue to override glue from other Glue Gunners, except those with Bloon Dissolver, MOAB Glue, or their further upgrades. Crosspathing does the following:

• With Glue Strike and Glue Storm, it allows their abilities to inflict damage over time as well.
• With MOAB Glue and above, it deals +9 damage to MOAB-Class Bloons per tick. However, it only lasts for 9 seconds on them, like the slowing effect.
• With Relentless Glue, it deals +19 damage to MOAB-class per tick and lasts for 12 seconds on them.
• With Super Glue, it deals 21 base damage and +39 damage to MOAB-class per tick and lasts for 18 seconds on them. It also causes its on-pop stun AoEs to deal 1 Acid-type damage and remove its damage cap.

Bloon Dissolver

Tier 3 — 2,500 XP to unlock

Can glue one additional Bloon per shot and solvents melt two layers every second.

This upgrade improves the damage-over-time effect of the Glue Gunner's glue, making it tick every 0.5 seconds instead of every 2 seconds, and increases the damage-over-time's Ceramic damage from +0 to +2. This upgrade also increases Glue Gunner's pierce by 1, decreases its attack cooldown by 50% (from 1 second to 0.5 seconds) and increase the glue level on all Bloons from 1 to 3.

Bloon Liquefier

Tier 4 — 9,000 XP to unlock

Applies liquifying compounds that do 10 pops every second, and drops powerful acid onto the track after destroying a Bloon.

This upgrade improves the damage-over-time effect of the Glue Gunner's glue, making it tick every 0.1 seconds instead of every 0.5 seconds. The glue level is increased from 3 to 4

When a Bloon fully pops while under the effects of Bloon Liquefier glue, it drops one puddle of acid onto the track. These puddles deal 4 damage, have 3 pierce, and last for 7.7 seconds. They have Normal-type damage but cannot target Camo Bloons without Camo detection.

Tier 5 — 37,500 XP to unlock

The Glue Gunner's damage-over-time tick damage is improved, increasing bonus Ceramic damage from +3 to +9 and gaining +4 MOAB-Class damage. The acid puddles dropped from affected Bloons deal 15 damage instead of 4.

This upgrade increases Glue Gunner's pierce from 2 to 4, the glue level from 4 to 6, lets it fire 2 globs of glue per shot instead of 1, separated by 10° from the center, and doubles its attack speed, attacking every 0.25 seconds. Each glob now creates a splatter upon impact as if Glue Splatter were purchased instead of going through targets.

Path 2

This upgrade increases the Glue Gunner's pierce by 1 and projectile radius by 25%. As a crosspath, it also increases the pierce of Bloon Liquefier's and The Bloon Solver's acid puddles and Relentless Glue's and Super Glue's splatters on pop by 1.

Glue Splatter

Tier 2 — 900 XP to unlock

Splatters glue across up to 5 Bloons per shot.

The Glue Gunner's projectiles create a splatter upon impact instead of passing through its first target. This splatter has a pierce of 4 (or 6 with More Splatty Glue) and applies the same glue effects as the main projectile. This means a single shot may glue up to 5 Bloons in total (or 7 with More Splatty Glue).

As a crosspath, this upgrade improves The Bloon Solver splatter pierce by +3 and splatter radius from 12 to 25 and increases Relentless Glue and Super Glue on-pop splat pierce by 2 (4 with More Splatty Glue)

Glue Hose

Tier 3 — 2,500 XP to unlock

Shoots glue 3x as fast and in a wider area!

This upgrade reduces the Glue Gunner's attack cooldown by 66% (from 1 second to 0.34 seconds), for an attack speed increase of ~194%, and gives it a range increase from 46 units to 58, for a ~59% increase in coverage area.

Glue Strike

Tier 4 — 8,500 XP to unlock

Glue Strike Ability: Glues all Bloons on screen, removing Lead immunity, and causing them to take more damage from all sources while it lasts.

This upgrade grants Glue Gunner the Glue Strike ability. When activated, this ability glues all Bloons (including MOAB-Class Bloons) on screen, soaking up to five non-blimp layers (all including blimps with Glue Soak) for 11 seconds (24 seconds with Stickier Glue). This ability's glue effect applies a debuff that soaks through all layers (needs Glue Soak for blimp layers), causing affected Bloons to take +2 damage from all damage sources, including damage-over-time effects. It also applies another debuff that causes the immunities of Lead and Frozen Bloons to stop working during the ability, allowing them to be popped by towers that normally cannot damage those Bloon types; this effect soaks through 6 layers.

This ability has a 40 second cooldown and an initial cooldown of 13.333 seconds.

Glue Storm

Tier 5 — 25,000 XP to unlock

Glue Storm Ability: Pelts the whole screen with glue for 20 seconds.

This upgrade replaces the Glue Strike ability with the Glue Storm ability, which glues all Bloons on screen every second for 20 seconds instead of only applying once. The rate at which Bloons are glued by the ability is affected by rate buffs such as Jungle Drums. Glue from the ability lasts for 11 seconds (24 with Stickier Glue), and the slowdown soaks up to five non-blimp layers (all with Glue Soak, includes blimp layers with Corrosive Glue), while the damage debuff soaks through all non-blimp layers (plus blimps with Glue Soak) and the immunity debuff soak up to 6 non-blimp layers. The cooldown of this ability is 40 seconds.

Path 3

Stickier Glue

Tier 1 — 130 XP to unlock

Makes glue effect last much longer.

This upgrade increases the duration of the Glue Gunner's glue effect from 11 to 24 seconds.

With Bloon Liquefier and The Bloon Solver, this upgrade also allows acid puddles to last for 9.1 more seconds and last 1 additional round instead of disappearing upon a round ending. This upgrade increases the duration of the glue from Glue Strike and Glue Storm's abilities by 13 seconds.

Stronger Glue

Tier 2 — 600 XP to unlock

Slows down Bloons even more.

This upgrade improves the effect of Glue Gunner's glue, reducing the speed of glued Bloons from 0.5x speed to 0.25x.

MOAB Glue

Tier 3 — 2,500 XP to unlock

Improved glue formula allows it to stick to MOAB-Class Bloons.

This upgrade lets the Glue Gunner target MOAB-Class Bloons and slow them down for the reduced duration of 9 seconds. MOAB-Class Bloons under the effects of MOAB Glue are slowed to 0.625x speed (0.55x speed with Aviation Grade Glue). BADs and Boss Bloons are not slowed by this effect. On other Bloons, the effect is identical to Stronger Glue. Its glue level on all Bloons is increased from 1 to 5 (remain at 2 if crosspath with 2-0-3).

Relentless Glue

Tier 4 — 8,000 XP to unlock

When a glued Bloon is popped, nearby Bloons are stunned.

This upgrade improves its glue duration on MOAB-class Bloons from 9 to 12 seconds, and additionally causes Bloons popped while under its effect to create a small splatter that stuns nearby Bloons. This splatter deals no damage, has a pierce of 6, and an effect radius of 12 units. Non-MOAB-Class Bloons impacted by this splatter are stunned for 1 second, MOABs for 0.25 seconds, and DDTs for 0.2 seconds. MOAB-Class Bloons other than MOABs and DDTs cannot be targeted by the splatter. Splatter stuns soak all non-blimp layers. This upgrade also increase the glue level on all Bloons from 5 to 7 (remain at 2 if crosspath with 2-0-4).

Super Glue

Tier 5 — 30,000 XP to unlock

Glue so strong it temporarily immobilizes all affected Bloons!

The Glue Gunner's glue effect becomes stronger, completely stopping non-MOAB-Class Bloons and slowing MOAB-Class Bloons by a much greater amount for a short duration. This upgrade increases its pierce by 5, and after gluing it deals 1 base damage (which is not affected by damage buffs), plus a separate 30 MOAB-class damage DoT that triggers every 0.95 seconds for 1 second that immediately begins damaging when applied, and increases duration of the normal slowdown versus MOAB-class from 12 to 18 seconds. The on-pop splat has its pierce increased from 6 to 11, can stun BFBs and ZOMGs, and all stunnable blimps are stunned for 1 second.

Unlike most Glue Gunners, Super Glue can hit Bloons which are already glued by itself, resetting the glue's effect.

Glue Gunner is cheap, long-lasting slowdown on a small number of bloons. It does not do damage by itself, but a glued bloon is much easier to deal with before it leaks. Since slowing down a bloon also holds back all of its children, Glue Gunners are often left on strong, and are very powerful against spaced rounds even with low upgrades. They lack pierce compared to Ice Monkeys but make up for that with a longer effect duration and faster attacks, and full effectiveness against Ceramics at lower tiers.

The top path focuses on damaging glued targets, letting it function as cleanup. The Bloon Solver is very strong as a cleanup tower and can handle huge numbers of late game Ceramics and even smaller blimps even on difficult maps. Lower tiers can also be good, but since they take time to pop their targets, they need to glue bloons early enough in the track for the damage to work, which limits their usefulness.

The middle path focuses on glueing more bloons. It's the most common crosspath, and is effective at slowing down large numbers of Ceramics. Later tiers give an ability which boosts damage for other towers and allows them to pop lead such as DDTs.

The bottom path makes the slow stronger and lets it slow down blimps. This is extremely valuable in late game for slowing down rounds, and can benefit almost any strategy.
