Card backs are a type of cosmetic item in Bloons Card Storm. They can be used to customize the back side of the cards in a deck. During a match, card backs are visible on the player's deck, on cards that are being played, and in the opponent's hand. Bloons played by the Storm or by effects in Adventure mode always use the Standard card back.

If a card that was not played by the player becomes controlled by that player, the card keeps the back it originally had instead of using the back of the player that currently controls it. If moved into the player's hand, such as by using Expert Negotiator and then Return to Sender on an opponent's card or by using Return to Sender on a Storm Bloon, the opponent can see the card with the different back. Cards created by another card always use the same back as the card that created it (such as the Arcane Master's Yellow Bloons).

Card backs were not individually named until version 2.0.
