Sauda is a Hero in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 24.0. She can be unlocked for Monkey Money 5,000 starting at level 25.

Sauda swipes her twin swords at Bloons, creating a slash wave that damages Bloons. She has a small range but attacks quickly. Sword slashes deal double base damage to Ceramic and MOAB-Class Bloons. Without support, her slashes can't pop frozen and Lead Bloons, until she reaches level 7 and 13 respectively.

As she levels up, she gains activated abilities that trigger special sword attacks that can pop all Bloon types and temporarily pauses her attacking, all of her attacks deal more damage to Bloons with certain status effects or properties, and she applies a Bloon Bleed damage-over-time effect to Bloons.

  • Starting at level 7, all of Sauda's attacks do extra damage to stunned Bloons. The amount of extra damage is improved at levels 13 and 17.
  • Starting at level 9, Bloons damaged by her sword slashes will receive the Bloon Bleed damage-over-time effect.
  • Starting at level 11, all of Sauda's attacks deal extra damage to slowed Bloons and Bloons with damage-over-time effects other than Bloon Bleed. The amount of extra damage is improved at level 17.
  • Sauda has two Activated Abilities:
    • Leaping Sword (level 3) — Sauda stops attacking to jump into the air and strike a Bloon based on her targeting, damaging all Bloons she lands on, and leaving behind swords on the track that damage Bloons that pass through them.
    • Sword Charge (level 10) — Sauda stops attacking and runs down every lane simultaneously, starting at the exit, damaging Bloons she passes through.

Sauda's sword slashes are large stationary projectiles that are offset slightly in front of her. Like Ice Monkeys and Ring of Fire, the radius of these projectiles scales with range buffs to allow her slashes to hit Bloons from further away when buffed. She has four attack animations that she uses at random, but their differences are purely visual.

Initially, she slashes every 0.45 seconds and pops 3 Bloons per shot, dealing 1 damage. Versus fortified Bloon, Ceramic Bloon and MOAB-Class Bloon, mutually exclusively, each sword slash always does 2× her base damage.

Bloon Bleed is unlocked at level 9. Sauda inflicts a damage over time effect on Bloons with her sword slashes, dealing damage every 2 seconds for just over 4 seconds. Regular Bloons take 1 damage per tick, while MOAB-Class Bloons take an additional 19 damage per tick (20 total). At level 17, the damage increases to 10 for all Bloons and +40 for MOAB-Class Bloons and lasts for exactly 6 seconds instead of 4.05 seconds.

Starting from level 7, Sauda gains Bloon Weakness, allowing her to deal more damage to stunned Bloons. This affects her sword slashes and her activated abilities. Level 13 improves the bonus stunned damage on her sword swipes, and even more at level 17.

Leaping Sword is unlocked at level 3. Upon activation, Sauda stops attacking for about 0.5s to jump and crash at Bloons with her swords. While jumping, she always tracks her target. Upon hitting a location, the "strike" area-of-effect, followed by an "after-sword" that continuously damages Bloons that pass through its radius. This ability has a cooldown of 30 seconds. She cannot activate any ability while any of her abilities are active. Selling her will remove any placed Leaping Swords that came from her.

The "strike" deals 20 damage or 80 MOAB-Class damage around 15 radius, up to 30 Bloons. The "after-sword" does 2 damage with 5 pierce, with a rehit cooldown of 0.2s and pierce refresh of 0.1s, and 15 radius, lasting for 6.5 seconds plus 0.5s per additional level. Both attributes of the Leaping Sword have the Normal damage type.

At level 12 damage is increased to 40 and MOAB-Class damage to 180. At level 15 damage is further increased to 80 and MOAB-Class damage to 220. At level 20 Damage is increased to 400 and MOAB-Class damage to 540.

Ability deals bonus damage to stunned Bloons starting from level 7, and bonus damage to Bloons that are slowed, immobilized, or taking damage over time starting from level 11.

Sword Charge is unlocked at level 10. Upon activation, Sauda stops attacking for a brief amount of time to sweep backwards along the track with one copy of Sauda for every entry-to-exit combination. During Sword Charge, she moves at a set speed, dealing 30 damage to every Bloon she passes through. The ability has 400 pierce and a 45 second cooldown. She cannot activate any ability while any of her abilities are active.

Ability deals increased damage to Bloons that are stunned, and starting from level 11 it does increased damage to Bloons that are slowed, immobilized, or taking damage over time.

On the surface level, Sauda is easy to use because of her strong early game, especially on Beginner maps and Intermediate maps. However, she is by no means a solo tower and will struggle in the mid to late game without using other towers that can trigger her extra damage. Thus, towers such as Relentless Glue (for triggering both bonus stun and slow damage) and Dragon's Breath (for triggering bonus DoT damage) pair well with her. Additionally, she can't solo all map formats on early rounds without leaking and MK.

The majority of Sauda's power comes from her abilities. Leaping Sword is great for general damage if Sauda is targeting Bloons that can trigger her bonus and Sword Charge provides much needed cleanup in the late game while trivializing certain mid-game rounds such as 63, 76, and 78. She is especially powerful on maps with overlapping lanes, such as Quad.

Overall, she excels in casual gameplay, being friendly to newer players without much user input required to optimize her. On Boss Rush, her Leaping Sword can be a simple spammable way to deal early Boss damage, especially versus Phayze and Blastapopoulos. She's decent in early-game Race conditions with Leaping Sword; however, Rosalia's Scatter Missile remains more reliable at maximizing pierce.

Yes, here it is the nerf you’ve all been waiting for. But as some in the community predicted, it’s not that much of a nerf. Sauda’s range has been tightened up as her role is specifically about high damage in a small, focused area.

While we feel Sauda’s power has been balanced fairly well, we have also felt that too much of this power is generally available while ignoring the synergies that she was intended to be built around.To correct this her damage will in total remain the same, but some key levels that increased damage will now instead buff her weakness bonuses. We would also like to make it clear that this has been in the works for some time and has nothing to do with the recent 1TC completion, so please don’t be mad at that person. This will mean fairly little to most players, who are not doing those sorts of challenges anyway.

Saving this for last, as it is the biggest rework here with the most to say. There was too much already changed to include even further changes with her all at once, but we want to take this rework further after seeing your feedback, so Sauda fans please take your time over the holidays to really get a feel for how this changes things. At first this looks like a lot of numbers going down, but that is not our only intention with the changes, Sauda’s feeling is far too much of a ‘set and forget’ play, leading her to be extremely overvalued on simple maps but have a highly lackluster feeling on many difficult ones that require further interaction. To steer away from this her base power is being lowered at a number of points, with some tweaks to both her abilities overall improving their power mainly with a huge buff to her level 7 & 11 Bloon Weakness debuffs now benefitting her abilities with CONSIDERABLY more damage than previously (previously +2 regardless of the ability damage)

Sauda's early game feels exceptional and is seeing a pierce reduction, however as her Sword Charge struggles to break super ceramics as they first begin to appear we’re also filling a gap and allowing her to sweep the path twice from Lv14, Sword Charge damage is also being reduced at lv16 but this is only to keep the overall same power level now that it hits twice.

As T1 artifacts can easily be filled in with selected starting artifacts we felt a lot of starter teams didn’t stand out from the rest in too meaningful a way (other than starting towers), so to improve on this we’ve gone over a lot of the worse performing starter teams and upgraded their starter artifacts to higher tiers.
