Heroic Specialty is a type of Artifact in the Rogue Legends DLC for Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 49.0. While active, all Heroes count as a specific Monkey category, but gains 30% less end of round XP with the Rare version. Quincy begins with the Legendary version.
The following Heroes count as specific categories:
- Primary: Quincy, Gwendolin, Pat Fusty, Sauda
- Military: Striker Jones, Captain Churchill, Admiral Brickell
- Magic: Obyn Greenfoot, Ezili, Adora, Psi, Corvus
- Support: Benjamin, Geraldo, Etienne, Rosalia, Silas
Strategy
This Artifact is basically a watered down version of One Monkey Army that only counts Heroes by one tower category, but does not affect the damage output of other towers in exchange. With Unification, Conscription, Monkey Academy, Master of all Trades or Essence Of Dreadbloon (if the Hero is Level 15 or higher), Heroes can count for all tower categories, opening up more room for class-specific synergies which shine on Endless CHIMPS campaigns when the player has amassed a large amount of Artifacts.
Before getting Artifacts that count specific tower categories as all categories, note the Hero's specified category as above and choose Boosts and Artifacts that synergize with that category, prime examples include Critical Success, Squadron Together Strong, Pure Damage or Support Specialist in addition to any Inspiration, Precision or Quickening Artifact of the corresponding category. An example of this interaction in the early game is Sauda (regular skin) which can benefit from Sticky Situation right away as her starting party includes a Glue Gunner.
This artifact has no effect on the XP per pop from Battlefield Commission, effectively bypassing the downside of the Rare version. This can be a decent strategy for starting Artifacts on a Hero-focused build.
Trivia
- Coincidentally, heroes are placed in the same categories as from a Reddit post on 5 December 2023 in the Bloons TD 6 official subreddit before the release of Rosalia and Silas.[1]
