Quincy is a monkey character that first appeared in Bloons TD 6. He is an archer who uses his bow to pop Bloons. He is the first playable Hero the player unlocks in all of his appearances. Due to his ubiquity, he is often used to represent Heroes as a whole.

Gameplay

Bloons TD series

Quincy is a Hero who focuses on simple but practical offense, having arrows that bounce to other Bloons and abilities that merely serve to supplement his damage output. He is very cheap and levels up quickly.

His Hero Alt in Battles 2, Cyber Quincy, is more focused on how many Bloons he pops than how fast he can pop them due to his plasma damage, additionally being able to attack over obstacles, but having his main weakness be Purple Bloons.

Bloons Pop!

As per usual, Quincy is the first Hero the player unlocks. He fires 5 volleys of 5 sharp arrows (25 arrows in total).

Quincy is a Hero focused on offense, having abilities purely devoted to popping Bloons. He is one of two Heroes the player starts with.

General information

Appearance

Quincy has brown fur, tan skin, and brown eyes. He wears a gray jacket with orange accents on its hood, gray pants that also cover his tail, dark gray boots, a quiver, and a belt with three brown pouches on the front. He has been described as having a small frame. In BTD6 and Battles 2, his appearance changes as he levels up:

• At level 3, he gains an extra arrow in his quiver.
• At level 7, the extra arrow's fletching gains yellow stripes.
• At level 10, his hood gains two wings.
• At level 20, he gains a visor that conceals his face behind orange goggles.

Personality and traits

BTD6 and Battles 2 describe Quincy as "proud, strong and intelligent". He is particularly proud of his lineage, often mentioning his status as son of Quincy. He has an American accent. It has been implied that his ability to never miss a shot is entirely genetic. Although he is proud of his skills, he subscribes to the idea that "any" publicity is good publicity, and thus is open to pointing out his weaknesses.

The "Son of Quincy" cosmetic showcase from Battles 2 reveals that he has a son (grandson of Quincy) that looks almost exactly like him.

Other forms

Cyber Quincy

Cyber Quincy is a version of Quincy augmented with cybernetics. His in-game profiles state that Dr. Monkey "rebuilt" him after a "nefarious DDT" injured him, though Ninja Kiwi have also cited him as the result of Dr. Monkey's sending Quincy "back to the future". His speech is more monotone and robotic.

Wolfpack Quincy

Wolfpack Quincy is a more feral version of Quincy. In BTD6, his in-game profile describes him as Quincy's ancestor and states that he comes from "wilder distant days." His voice is audibly deeper.

Fēijiāngjūn Quincy

Fēijiāngjūn Quincy (飞将军昆西, lit. "Flying General Quincy") is a skin of Quincy exclusive to the Chinese version of BTD6. He is based on Li Guang, a Western Han dynasty military general and Chinese historical figure whom the Xiongnu nicknamed the "Flying General".

Robin Hood Quincy

Robin Hood Quincy is a version of Quincy that debuted in Bloons Pop! and is based on the eponymous character from English folklore. The skin gives Quincy tights and a felt hat, as well as a moustache and goatee.

Cupid Quincy

Cupid Quincy is another version of Quincy that debuted in Bloons Pop!. The skin is based on the eponymous Roman god and gives Quincy a toga, sandals, and a pair of heart-adorned wings above his ears.

Lore

• He has a lot of plans for Quincy-branded products, including cereal, sneakers, arrows and candy, among several others. It has been implied that he already has a licensed racing game.
• When something does get past his bow, he gets very sad.
• His mother is a "very lovely lady monkey." Her name is not Quincy.
• Out of all the Heroes, Quincy cries the most.
• He eats banana porridge for breakfast.
• He has a crush on Gwendolin.
• Psi has a fear of his "playing the vuvuzela in the middle of the night." When he plays the instrument, every Hero (aside from Psi, who grabs their drum kit) stuffs their ears with banana peels.
• He likes sweet snacks.
• He loves comics.
• He considered signing up to be a spokesmonkey for his favorite fast food restaurant, the Banana Shack.
• Despite his small frame, he's one of the stronger Heroes.
• He graduated at the top of his class from the College of Archery.
• He has tried several other weapons, but the bow was always his best fit. Using a crossbow in particular did not go well for him.
• Quincy and Adora dislike spicy food the most out of the Heroes.
• The origin of the Son of Quincy surname came from the first Quincy, who preferred it over the more conventional Quincysonn.
• When a Camo Bloon is revealed after getting past his bow, he files a complaint to the MABA (Monkey Association of Bows and Arrows) about an illegal play.
• He looks up to Robin Hood.
• Neither he nor his lineage reproduce via mitosis.
• He is not good at Fortnite, but enjoys LEGO Fortnite.
• His wealth might be the result of selling a secret stock of action figures.
• He got his start in Bloon-popping as a Dart Monkey who never missed. He still plays darts recreationally, being a Darts League champion.
• His ricocheting arrows are a result of him taking inspiration from Glaive Ricochet during training.
• The most facial hair he can grow is a very weak "beard".
• If Quincy were a standard tower, he would be Primary-class.
• He is not a fan of DDTs.
• When four Sons of Quincy are in the same room, the group is called a quadcy.
• In his yearbook, Quincy was voted "Best Archer".
• He once tried teaching Pat Fusty to use a bow, but it was too small for Pat's liking.
• He loves going to museums.
• It has been implied that the Son of Quincy lineage has yet to produce any women.
• He sees a therapist every few days for frequent existential crises involving the prospect of Bloons getting past his bow and/or him not actually being Son of Quincy.
• Though it is sacrilegious to even think about the concept of battling a deity as revered as the True Sun God, it would not be able to get past Quincy's bow.
• Cyber Quincy uses rechargeable batteries.
• The DDT injury that caused Cyber Quincy's creation was a result of Quincy's hubris, having been "a little too sure" nothing could get past his bow, the surgery resulting in said creation took "many arduous hours".
• Being able to switch between Quincy and Cyber Quincy in-game has been explained as a result of time travel.
