Exploding Pineapple is the Monkey Ace's path 2 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD Battles 2. It grants Monkey Ace an additional attack, which drops an explosive pineapple on the map at the Monkey Ace's location every 2 seconds (1.2 seconds with Rapid Fire). Pineapples explode after 2 seconds, creating a 25 radius blast that does 1 damage with 20 pierce (32 with Sharper Darts. Pineapple explosions cannot damage Black Bloons.
Additionally, explosives from its other upgrade paths are improved:
- MOAB Missiles of Fighter Plane and subsequent upgrades +2 pierce and +4.5 blast radius.
- Bombs of Spectre and Flying Fortress have their pierce increased by +15, and +3 blast radius.
Visually, each pineapple is timed from 3 and counts down to 1 before exploding, but each interval is faster than one second.

Unlike in BTD6, pineapples do a solid job at breaking down weak rushes such as Grouped Reds for a cheap cost, while saving up well into Bomber Ace provided that spaced rushes are handled well in other ways.
Pineapples often prefer the Rapid Fire crosspath compared to the already reasonable pierce that would be too unnecessarily extra with Sharper Darts, but crosspathing is optional at lower tiers; the pineapple attack is more of a transition upgrade rather than used for standalone usage.
