Heavy Shells

Heavy Shells is the Mortar Monkey's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD Battles 2. It grants normal damage type, enabling it to damage Black properties. It also grants a +1 damage bonus to Leads (including visible DDTs), MOAB-Class Bloons, and Fortified Bloons, a +2 damage bonus to stunned Bloons and blimps, and a +3 damage bonus to Ceramics. These bonuses can stack.

The randomness of the Mortar has never been popular and the xx1 upgrade has often felt like a tax to remove RNG than an upgrade in its own right. The new Dynamic Targeting upgrade will hopefully give interesting crosspath options to the other upgrades, allowing the Mortar to easily focus fire on strong MOABs or maximise the impact of stunning by automatically aiming for the densest cluster of bloons. Manual targeting will likely still remain the most consistent option for effects like Signal Flare and Burny Stuff that just want to hit every bloon once. — Update notes
