IMF loan ^[sic] is the Banana Farm's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD Battles 2. It increases the bank capacity from $14,000 to $18,000, and grants the IMF Loan ability. When the IMF Loan ability is activated, it grants a loan of $15,000, rewarding an instant $15,000 and equal debt. The ability has an initial cooldown of 20 seconds and a cooldown of 90 seconds. All IMF loan abilities cannot be activated while currently in debt. The amount of granted money cannot be increased with buffs.

With Greater Production, the end-of-round cash bonus is increased from $550 to $700, while other crosspaths remain identical to Monkey Bank.

IMF Loan is a high-risk, high-reward T4 Farm that grants a huge sum of cash immediately, which can be used to purchase stronger Farm upgrades, rush the opponent with an all-out rush (if their defense is weakened), or buy emergency funds for defenses. Be aware of the long initial cooldown, and the long base cooldown also limits you from spamming the ability to afford expensive Farms, instead requiring proper timing for a single burst of cash. IMF Loan can be naturally progressed from the Monkey Bank, or simply bought for the ability. When progressing from Monkey Bank, buy the IMF Loan upgrade before the Bank reaches its full $14,000, which can quickly pay off with the bonus Bank capacity with the extra $6000 within two rounds, plus the benefit of accessing its ability.

Both crosspaths are beneficial for different purposes. 2-4-0 is preferred when going directly from the Monkey Bank to maximize its stored bank income. 0-4-1 is better if desiring a cheaper IMF Loan purchase, in addition to extra sellback with 0-4-2 if needed. Both IMF Loan crosspaths are used in the optimal Monkey-Nomics route, with the latter upgraded and the former sold after collecting its balance and activating any IMF Loan ability.
