Sentry Gun is the Engineer Monkey's path 1 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD Battles 2. With this upgrade, the Engineer can deploy Sentry sub-towers within its range to pop Bloons. It deploys a Sentry every 10 seconds and each one lasts for 25 seconds. By default, Sentries attack every 0.98 seconds, pop up to 2 Bloons, and have 45 range. Sentries can inherit attack speed buffs from its parent, but the Engineer's sentry production cannot be affected by external attack speed buffs.
Crosspaths will affect newly spawned sentries.
- Larger Service Area: +4 range, for a total of 49.
- Deconstruction: Sentries deal +1 damage to Fortified and +1 damage to MOAB-Class Bloons.
- Oversize Nails: +1 pierce, for a total of 3, and changes the damage type from Sharp to Shatter, allowing for the popping of frozen Bloons.
- Pin: Pins Bloons, stunning non-heavy Bloons for 1 second.

Sentries can no longer stun Ceramics (bug fix)

Recently, we altered Overclock so that buffing a parent tower will also buff all of its child towers (eg sentries). Additionally, in this update we’re fixing a bug with this, meaning that newly spawned child towers will now correctly inherit the buff. With these changes, it makes Sentry Champion incredibly strong but only when buffed up a lot by the likes of Homeland Defense and Overclock. We have decided to change Engineer so that the spawn rate of its sentries can no longer be affected by attack rate buffs, but we have also greatly increased Sentry Champion’s regular damage so that it’s much stronger on its own now.
