 Supply Drop Ability: drops a crate full of cash. Regular attack also damages Lead Bloons and increases Shrapnel popping power.

Supply Drop is the Sniper Monkey's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD Battles 2. It grants Sniper Monkey a Supply Drop Ability, which when activated calls in a plane that drops a crate worth $1,750 once collected. The ability has a cooldown of 50 seconds and an initial cooldown of 20 seconds. Its cooldown reduces by 5 seconds per Path 3 crosspath, for 45 and 40 seconds. Elite Sniper can trigger all available Supply Drop abilities simultaneously.
This upgrade additionally grants Sniper Monkey's bullets (but not its shrapnel) the unstoppable damage type (now pops Frozen Bloons and Lead Bloons), and increases shrapnel pierce from 2 to 3.
Money generated from the ability is affected by DJ Benjammin's level 5+ Side Hustle buff.

It is an efficient money generator; however, its weak damage that also anti-stalls makes it less desirable than other alt eco abilities, especially Support Chinook. Using Supply Drop also enables Cripple MOAB to be used.
It is recommended to use 0-4-2, as the damage bonus from 2-4-0 is not enough to be worth losing out the income bonuses of Path 3. Other defenses are usually better at defending rushes, particularly dense rushes.

We were a little too successful in trying to increase the popularity of the Sniper Monkey as it is now the single most used tower in the game, surpassing even the Banana Farm. Sniper's popularity is due to it's versatility as an income source that also excels with both group popping through its shrapnel shot and at single targets with its high damage. We believe the primary culprit for Sniper's dominance is the x3x Bouncing Bullet's ability to create multiple bursts of high damage shrapnel so we have capped it to 1 burst per shot [...] We've also increased the cooldown of the Supply Drop ability and added ability cooldown reductions to the bottom path to create a choice between the more offensive 240 Sniper farm or the more efficient 042.

The sniper has remained reasonably popular despite its nerf, although nothing close to the level of its glory days. While forcing a choice between high damage and cash generation paths was the point of the nerfs, it did leave Bouncing Bullet, a pure damage upgrade on the cash generation path, in a bit of a sad state. Without the extra shrapnel, we can afford to make the pierce much better without compromising the identity of the middle path. We also felt we could restore the bouncing shrapnel on the x5x since, as a tier 5 upgrade, it is automatically gated to the late game and can't be bought more than once.
