Cleansing Foam is the Engineer Monkey's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It grants the Engineer Monkey an additional cleansing foam attack which targets somewhere within the Engineer Monkey's range, and sprays its target with foam. The foam attack's speed is quadrupled for 1s at the start of every round. Bloons which touch the foam will lose their Camo and Regrow properties, if they have it. Additionally, Lead Bloons (not DDTs) will lose their outer layers instantly upon touching the foam, even if fortified.
Mechanics
The Engineer Monkey's foam attack has a cooldown of 2s, which is reduced to 1.2s with the Faster Engineering upgrade. The foam's attack cooldown is reduced by 0.25x for 1 second at the start of every round. Each foam has a pierce of 10, which is increased to 15 by the Oversize Nails upgrade. The Thicker Foams Monkey Knowledge increases foam pierce by 3. With the Pin upgrade, foam slows down non-MOAB-Class Bloons that touch it by 0.5x for 1 second. Foam has a lifespan of 8.5s.
Foam can be targeted anywhere within the Engineer Monkey's range, including over obstacles and off the track.
Foam deals no damage to Bloons except Lead Bloons. When a Lead Bloon touches foam, its outer layer will pop instantly even if is fortified (this does not apply to DDTs). Foam removes the Camo and Regrow properties of any Bloon it hits, including DDTs. Each Bloon that touches it uses up one of the foam's pierce, even if the foam did not affect it in any way.
If an Engineer Monkey has both the Cleansing Foam and Sentry Gun upgrades, the deployed sentries remove Camo and Regrow properties as well as instantly pop Lead layers. However, the sentries need external buffs to target Camo Bloons. These sentries remove the Camo property from DDTs if given camo detection, even if they cannot damage them due to the Lead property.
Strategy
Cleansing Foam is a viable option for dealing with Camo Bloons in the early to mid game, however it lacks the pierce to be reliable against some rounds with dense Camo Bloons such as round 78. It has finite range which is disadvantIt also has a niche in removing Camo from DDTs in the late game by targeting it slightly off the track so it doesn't waste pierce on other targets.
The choice of crosspath is situational. If foam is only used to help with early Camo detection, it does not need a crosspath at all. If some additional damage, attack speed, and Regrow removal is desired, it should take the top crosspath. On the other hand if additional pierce and slowdown is preferable, it should take the bottom crosspath.
The increased attack speed at the start of rounds helps it get some foam down before the Bloons arrive, but this counts as a buff and can be absorbed by Lych.
