Long Range is the Monkey Buccaneer's path 3 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It increases the Monkey Buccaneer's range by ~18.3% (absolute range increased from 60 to 71), increases the pierce of its darts by 2, and increases their projectile speed by 25%.

With crosspaths, the pierce of each attack is improved:

• Aircraft Carrier: Increases the pierce of the planes' radial and forward-firing darts by 2
• Grape Shot: Increases the pierce of the grapes by 1
• Cannon Ship: Increases the pierce of the bombs' explosions by 5 and the frags by 1.

Strategy

This section was last updated for: version 52.2

Long Range is not worth it for the 0-0-0 Monkey Buccaneer, relegating its use to crosspathing purposes. For Grape Shot and its succeeding upgrades, Long Range is recommended in Race Events and CT Time Attack, where its pierce benefits are significant. This is because without pierce buffs and Monkey Knowledge, each dart gains +50% base pierce, grapes gain doubled pierce, and Cannon Ship's bomb frags gain double pierce. Long Range is also recommended for Aircraft Carrier and Carrier Flagship when their Destroyer attack cannot be taken advantage of. The extra range and projectile speed for the Buccaneer are generally not significant.
