Cryo Cannon is the Ice Monkey's path 3 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It replaces its radial attack with an ice-shooting cannon, which attacks twice as fast as before, and has 46 range and a blast radius of 20. Bloons are frozen for the same duration as its previous tiers, and without duration penalty versus Ceramics, and freeze an extra layer. Upon buying this upgrade, it (plus subsequent tiers) gain ordinary targeting options, defaulting on First. Cryo Cannon and the upgrades following it also have a higher line of sight than other Ice Monkey upgrades.

If given Cold Snap, it gains Camo Prioritization targeting option.

With Big Cryo Blast, blast radius is increased by 12%

Strategy

Cryo Cannon's main use is against Golden Bloons, with the 2-0-3 crosspath being able to pop all of them until the Round 81-90 Golden Bloon, which gains Zebra properties that Cryo Cannon can nonetheless take care of with MIB. Elsewhere, it serves as a decent option for catching Super Ceramic Bloons, for which 0-2-3 is the optimal crosspath for increased attack speed and duration. However, it is prone to leaking Ceramics due to the relatively short freeze duration, making Ceramics unfreeze soon after it shifts focus.

While Icicles is quite fun for midgame cleanup, we acknowledge points raised on Cryo Cannon trading off it’s freeze prowess too quickly when the smaller freeze area even with such a fast rate increase still overall makes it struggle to slow as effectively. To counter this a little we have doubled the freeze radius of Cryo Cannon, but also increased damage of both the Ice Balls & Icicles to highlight more the intention of this path swapping to a damage hybrid earlier.
