Primary icon in Battles 2

Primary is a tower category in Bloons TD 6 and Bloons TD Battles 2 and a Monkey card class in Bloons Card Storm. During a game, Primary towers are distinguished by a blue background. As the name implies, this category comprises the first group of towers the player usually unlocks. In BTD6, Primary towers are unlocked at levels 2-6, with the Dart Monkey being unlocked by default. In Battles 2, Primary towers cost  150 to purchase, though the player starts with the Dart Monkey, Bomb Shooter, and Tack Shooter for free.

Characteristics

Bloons TD series

Primary towers are simple in their core functionality. They are on average cheaper to buy and to upgrade than towers of other categories, as well as having smaller footprints. Primary towers also have used the ability to slow or stall bloons, either as part of the base tower or one of its upgrades.

One particularly notable benefit of primary towers is that they receive significant buffs when placed within range of a Primary Training Village or its upgrades. This is core to many strategies that make use of primary towers.

Unlike other categories, primary towers have no methods of generating cash, and have very few ways to buff other towers. Additionally, they have limited options for camo detection, and all towers can only be placed on land.
