Overdrive is the Tack Shooter's path 3 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It decreases attack cooldown by 66.7%, tripling its attack speed compared to the previous upgrade, Tack Sprayer. Overdrive and other tier 4 and above Tack Shooters have slightly elevated lines of sight compared to tier 3 and below Tack Shooters.

Strategy

Overdrive is a very strong tower against blimps and Boss Bloons (except Vortex), in addition to doing good Bloon damage during the mid-game. It functions the best when placed near a loop, especially when placed directly under a section of the track, where its deadzone (spot above its placement where all tacks hit) is directly on the track and deals very high damage.

Overdrive's 1 damage and 2 pierce tacks necessitate towers such as Berserker Brew, Embrittlement, and Primary Training to maximize its power, in addition to Geraldo's Sharpening Stone and Jar of Pickles. Against Boss Bloons, Glue Strike, Super Brittle, and Cripple MOAB aid greatly as well. 2-0-4 is the optimal crosspath, allowing it to fill its role as a blimp-damaging tower better and work much better with pierce buffs.

Trivia

• Its upgrade icon only depicts 8 tacks, half of which it actually shoots in one volley.
• Both Overdrive and The Tack Zone's attack cooldowns were reduced by 50% in version 12.0, making the buffed Overdrive shoot faster than the pre-buffed Tack Zone.
