The Blazing Sun is the Desperado's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It increases the damage of its pistol shots from 5 to 20, gives them 40 extra damage to Ceramics, and reduces the cooldown between bursts from 1.2 seconds to 0.3 seconds. It also gains a special overheat mechanic where its attack speed decreases by 1% each time it fires a bullet, maxing out at 75 shots, at which point its attack speed equals that of Twin Sixes. Costing less than $20,000 outside of Impoppable, with decent damage and high attack speed but poor pierce and buffability, this upgrade serves a similar purpose to Elite Defender, offering cheap single-target damage in the mid-late game. Like Elite Defender, however, its utility falls off significantly after midgame, even harder than Elite Defender, due to the high density of MOAB-Class and Super Ceramic Bloons that spawn in the lategame and its poor synergy with common buffing towers. As of version 49.1, its damage potential is also hurt by a bug that prevents the delay between bursts from being reducible by buffs.
