Sun Avatar is the Super Monkey's path 1 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It replaces the Super Monkey's Plasma Blasts attack with sun blasts, which fire 3 at a time, with a total angle of 30°. It also increases the pierce of each projectile by +4 (6 assuming no crosspaths), and increases the projectile speed. With Strike Down the False, the Sun Avatar gains the capability to pop Purple Bloons, making it similar to normal damage type but will still heat up Blastapopoulos.

Strategy

Sun Avatar triples its projectile count compared to Plasma Blasts and greatly increases pierce, making it much stronger at base and much better with external buffs and bloon debuffs. It can function well enough in mid-game as a saveup tower with its high pierce knockback letting it help against late game ceramics, or as a heavily buffed late game damage tower. As the most expensive T3, Sun Avatar should be discounted by Monkey Commerce, preferably with 2 or 3 stacks.

In mid-game, it is generally better to use 3-0-1, as the knockback helps support other towers and gives more lasting utility. Pair with a 4-2-0 Stronger Stimulant and, if using Geraldo, Jar of Pickles. Ultravision can be skipped in favor of other camo detection support, or used for the extra camo damage and slight range boost.

For late game damage, or if a Knockback Super Monkey is already present, 3-2-0 is better for the extra pierce. More expensive support options such as Permanent Brew alongside debuff stacking like Glue Storm and Embrittlement let it deal great late game damage, particularly with Adora's Blood Sacrifice buff.

For Freeplay, where all buffs and debuffs are on the table, Sun Avatar falls short compared to Shinobi-buffed Bloonjitsu due to how extreme attack speeds are handled. Once Sun Avatar passes below 0.01 attack cooldown, it stops firing more projectiles, and instead gains more damage on each one, limiting its debuff synergy. Heavily buffed Bloonjitsus can also reach this attack speed cap, but have a smaller footprint and more projectiles per attack, making them the better Freeplay damage tower.
